Your missing the point what Haye is saying he needs to be more active to fight Wilder. Whyte is not going to win he has not improved since Joshua beat him and has been dropped so many times. Whyte is a more shot than Joshua .

If it is simply a stay busy fight that doesn't impact the date of a Wilder fight, then sure. If it pushes back a (mooted) Wilder fight, then no way.

I understand that Joshua should stay busy and hone his technique that James has been working on with him. But how does fighting Whyte who has the professed left hook, prepare AJ for Wilder? We all know Wilder's money shot is the right cross.

Is Anthony Joshua a world Champion? Joshua is under NO obligation to please the rest of the World.

Tyson Fury & Usyk are the two fighters with all the titles at Heavyweight.

They are under more obligation to participate in big fights.

Joshua is now a contender, and the only obligation he has? Is to charter his own route back towards a title fight.

Wilder hasn't fought since October. Joshua fought last month.

Just make the fight. The better part of the careers of both these guys is passed, still this fight is a good one.

Reason escapes me. I think Whyte is a bad choice because:

He fights nothing like Wilder.

He's still dangerous and the last thing Joshua needs is yet another unexpected loss to keep him out of the Fury/Wilder golden circle.

Whyte has had his share of opportunities.

There are literally dozens of skilled yet fairly safe opponents available today who have earned a step up chance.

Most, I beleive, would much rather see a fresh face in there such as:
Simon Kean
Ivan Dychko
Otto Wallin
Bakhodir Jalolov
Kem Ljungquist
Demsey McKean
Cassius Chaney

None of these are gimmes for AJ, who Really needs to SHINE right now to restore some confidence and public luster. If hes going in against Wilder, who's already moved past his own losses and shined in doing so, Joshua will need all the momentum he can get.
