Lewis at 37 wouldnt hold a candle to Vitali at 38. The way you talk it would seem like Lewis was an old bum who destroyed Vitali. Last I recall, Vitali was beating that ass up and down the ring. And the only reason he lost was because Lewis was lucky enough to graze Vitali's eyelid in the 3rd round. A graze which would blind Vitali for the rest of the fight. The rest of the fight which Vitali was still dominating, and that is with one eye mind you. If Lewis is as great and good as you say he was he would not back out of a rematch that he promised Vitali in the ring. Nor would he get his own doctor to inspect Vitali's eye, nor would he wait until Vitali fought Kirk Johnson. No the man was retired by Vitali in what was the luckiest win of his career.
Therefore if you want to be real and talk facts, here are the facts. Lewis won his fight with Vitali in the same condition Chris Byrd won the fight against Vitali, and that is by getting lucky after getting his ass beat lol. Here is another fact Vitali retired Lewis hehe.
    Great Post!

I support this. I also think that Vitali accomplishments both in kickboxing and boxing and outside the ring make him a legendary sporstman in Europe. I think 10 years from now, people will view Vitali similarly to Lewis, like one of the ATG HWs.

Except for the fact that the official scorecard had all the judges split on all rounds. And what that means is that atleast one out of the 3 judges gave a round to Vitali for every 6 rounds.

And here is another fact, if what you say is true, then Lewis would not have backed out of his word to give Vitali a rematch, nor would he have had his own doctor inspect Vitali's eye and wait for him to face Kirk Johnson. You dont know what you are talking about and I also dont remember Vitali ever wobbling. I do however remember Lewis being on ***** street more than once I also remember Vitali taking Lewis's hardest and best shots and brushing them off. Face it brosef that cut is the only thing that saved Lewis, everyone agrees I know even you agree. The way Lewis beat Vitali is just about identical to the way Byrd beat Vitali and that is through pure luck.

It wasn't just one cut it was 5 and he had around 60 stitches. Lewis deserved to win the fight, he gave Vitali a pizza face.

You sound like an upset Klit fan. The fact that the judging was so split means it was a damn close fight. Seriously Lewis was not dominated, and it doesn't really matter, Lewis knew all he had to do was work that eye so he wasn't exactly going for a points victory. Just because he didn't knock Vitali out doesn't mean he didn't win by KO (TKO). That was a clear win in my eyes the score cards weren't needed when you see Vitali's face. I had it a draw regardless. 3 rounds a piece (not that it matters at all since Lewis stopped him)

I feel ill that this thread was even made. If there are people out there who think the Klitschkos come anywhere close to Lewis on the all-time list, I think it's time to stop coming to boxingscene for a while. I have a huge headache seeing that something like 20 people think Vitali or Wlad is better than Lewis. I mean every fighter has his fans, but come on. This is just going too far.

Vitali was up 4-2 on the scorecards, but its not like he won evrey round or dominated Lewis. those cuts came from punches from Lewis, perfectley legal. Lewis won. I agree that Vitali should have gotten the rematch but what done is done and it never happened, Lennox was old and past prime that is a fact. He had the right to retire.

Vitali is a great fighter but Lennox was an all time great fighter thats the difference. Lennox was better in almost every category, he had a better resume, better techincly, fought in a thougher era, more famous.

yes vitali does have the highest knockout percenetege but so what? edwin valero got 100% ko's but nobody is saying edwin valero is the greatest of all time...

Pfft, Edwin Valero is on my Top 5 EVER list. Just behind Sven Ottke and a little ahead of Ray Robinson, and Ali.
