I don’t believe you Devin. This kid is kinda cringe. He was cool early on now I see what Tank means when he said Devin is trying to be like him. From the way he’s dressing now, the new tattoos (which are forbidden in Islam, which he portrays to be so into) & now trying to act like a tough guy that’s got beef with everyone especially on Twitter.

He’s been a beneficiary of great circumstances since the beginning. His resume is garbage & his path to undisputed has to be the easiest route ever taken in boxing history. That’s not to say he’s isn’t a great fighter, I just feel like he skipped the hell outta the line & hasn’t paid any dues. It’s an uphill battle for Loma but I think he has enough to pull it off. It’s now or never

Surprisingly large size difference between the two men. Is Haney going to starve himself like a refugee, or is Lomachenko going to put rocks in his pockets?

It's absolutely insane how many people don't understand that the whole thing was a cash grab by Sulaiman and the WBC. They had just created the Franchise nonsense for Canelo in September 2019 and they were desperate to try to get their blatant cash grab a measure of legitimacy by bestowing it on as many of the acknowledged P4P fighters of the time. This then enabled them to elevate their mandatory to champion status, and they further compounded things by having an interim champion, so they could have 3 sets of fighters paying them sanctioning fees.

Remember the WBA created the "Super" champion designation as well, for exactly the same reason, in 2000, and the organizations got to watch them charge double and triple sanctioning fees for decades. The news pundits have continued to support their nonsense by dignifying the secondary champions, like Tank Davis, as "world champions" even though they're little more than mandatories who don't have to enforce a mandatory status to fight the real champ and can just coast on their fake champ status. So it should be little surprise that the WBC got jealous and greedy.

Who all got franchise designations? Canelo, Lomachenko, and Juan Francisco Estrada. Wilder was supposed to be offered one, but Crawford flatly refused to accept one. That's a large chunk of the P4P guys at the time with WBC belts. Another thing that was in common is that WBC offered them the belts, except, apparently, Loma when he requested to fight Lopez, if you want to believe Sulaiman. Loma has said repeatedly that he didn't request the belt, and his motivation has been to fight for undisputed for the whole time he has fought at lightweight. What's more likely, that Sulaiman is lying, and that they actually forced the franchise tag on him as a condition for him to get the fight with the IBF champ? Or that Loma was "ducking" a total unknown in Haney and instead chose to fight the soft touch of the explosive young IBF champ, who was so much less of a threat than Haney, and did so by "requesting" the franchise tag?

This whole narrative is such an insane thing. We can also mention that around this time was also when Haney made his "white boy" racist comment about Loma. So his dislike of Loma has been around for a long time, and you can make up your own mind where it comes from. And it's not from Loma not giving him a chance. He only walked that back after taking a bunch of criticism and getting called personally by Sulaiman.
This actually cleared up a lot of misconceptions I had regarding the original Loma / Haney situation as well as the franchise belt and how the WBC was trying to push their franchise agenda on the PFP fighters.

Haney: “He made me wait four years to fight him, since I was 20 years old...”

Why does he keep mentioning such thing when there was never an offer made to Lomachenko from Hearn/DAZN?

Why do they talk as if everything is easy to make in boxing? He's with DAZN/Hearn and Loma is with the TR Bobfather, who repeatedly said Haney has no fans and he's boring to watch?

Don't know why he's not called out for such BS. He might as well say that with Tank Davis who he also called out, don't know how many times.

of course haney wants to make a statement and beat him bad, if the event is a good success that adds to his status in talks with someone like tank for example

Probably the best thing you can say about Haney's comments is he's trying to create some buzz and sell some tickets.

So, using this logic, you must really despise Fury.

Not saying young Haney doesn't have the talent to beat Loma, but I saw him hurt bad against Linares late and if JoJo Diaz could punch, Haney wouldn't be in this position. He would have been knocked out! He better hope Loma gets old over night, because if he doesn't, he's getting beat up bad!!! He beat a C class fighter for the undisputed championship. Kambosos got lucky that Teo outgrew the division and didn't him serious.
