Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson on Fighting Tank Davis: He's the Cash Cow, The A-Side; So It's All Up To Him

Shakur Stevenson understands where he stands in the boxing food chain. In a recent interview, the two-division titlist and current lightweight contender from Newark, New Jersey, praised Gervonta Davis for looking "sharp" against Ryan Garcia in their highly publicized fight last week at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Newfound respeck for this young man. He knows how this works.

Shakur, you should tell your buddy Crawford to think like you do.

Shakur can definitely defeat Tank on points. He has a much higher punch output, volume and work rate than Gervonta Davis. However, the question is can he outpoint him for a full twelve rounds without getting caught?

I ask that question because if he makes a mistake; Tank has that equalizer. Which is that straight left hand. Then the fights a wrap. This is as much of a 50/50 fight as one can get.

Yeah, that's the only way you can go about it without looking like you're begging.
Be that as it may, I'll probably never see Tank Davis begging for any fight among the top dogs.
Therefore, don't expect any kind of movement from Davis indicating he wants Shakur. Ever.
Stevenson just needs to keep being active and just let nature takes its course.
Ball is in Tank Davis' court on this one. No one else's.

The only guy who currently has a chance to beat Shakur at 135 is Tank Davis.

The way Tank answered questions about what is next tells me this fight won't happen anytime soon. It will marinate like Floyd vs Manny. Tank isn't Floyd so, he could loose way before then.. this could end up being a Wilder/Fury vs Joshua type of event.

If Loma beats Haney look for Davis to go after him. Loma is small and on the slide. But he won't go after Haney and I think he will vacate his secondary title if WBA mandate it. No fight with Stevenson anytime soon either.

It works ONLY in this case cause neither of them have any belts. The winner of Haney/Loma is the MAN of the division, period. Davis can go along and make all the money he wants but hes nothing more than an entertaining sideshow compared to the UNDISPUTED champion at 135. As for them DOGS at 140, Davis is gonna turn poodle and not fight there any longer unless he pulls bs stipulations there.
For all thebtalent he has, it sure seems to most that he truly doesnt believe in himself w/all the buffoonery he and his team pull.

The cash cow is Ryan Garcia.. sorry Shakur

Tank vs Skaur pulls in the same buy rate Tank vs Hector Garcia pulled in LOLLL

It will sell more tickets then the Tank vs Hector fight pulled in but not anywhere near what Ryan pulled in.
