Prograis vs. Matias is the fight at 140lbs I want to see. Unfortunately I have a feeling Matias is going to have a very difficult time getting any of the big names to fight him because he's high risk, low reward. Hopefully Prograis is the exception, he does seem the type who will fight anyone but we'll see.

I'm guessing that because its only a 3 fight deal, he's probably going to average more per fight against a longer offer from Top Rank, and he going to make a good amount fighting lesser competition in a contract that he can complete in a year if he wants.
        Shorter contract makes sense

Thanks for sharing, I respect that response for sure. Now it makes more sense

here is an interview with him where he addresses all of these questions perfectly. He says that Ramirez only has one fight left with Top Rank and teo does not want to work with them any longer. So matchroom is the best option and also allows him to choose who fights on his undercard

He chose between money and protection. Hearn would protect him like he did Benn, Haney and others.

Prograis is more talk than action. He’s already bragging that his Matchroom deal calls for him to have two relatively gimme fights, then (maybe) a unification fight with Matias and then he’s supposedly an in-demand free agent again. Why isn’t Catterall one of the three fights? The whole 140 division is full of flaky head cases from con man Prograis to Ramirez and Barboza, better known as the deluded “I know my worth” brothers.

I've said in another thread that Top Rank's 140lb stable is in a state of flux, but I didn't even know that Ramirez only has one fight left. That's one more reason why Prograis should not choose TR. If Ramirez actually wants to fight Prograis, he's gonna have to take the initiative because he wasn't interested on two separate occasions.

Three fights/11 months + control over his undercard sounds like a decent deal for Prograis.

Prograis already doing the ducking. Look at the interview this past Saturday with him, Mannix and Hearn, when asked what's next for 140, he said and I quote "Ryan Garcia, maybe Tank" . Maybe Tank? You f'ing kidding me? He wants that easy money and no risk.

He didn't say, unify 140, Tank, Haney, etc. The first name out of his mouth was Garcia, a guy with zero championship experience, coming off a loss, first time at 140, all the while there are way better people at 140.

He's the definition of a ducker.

Great for who? Prograis? who would beat him as bad as Stank? Prograis is a duck. Instead of trying to unify 140 or call out Stank, he wants that easy money with Ryan.

I know you people are ok with that though, let's protect our fighters, give them the easy bouts. No risk, lots of reward. The Gayweather syndrome.
