Comments Thread For: Hearn: Canelo Rematch At 175 Biggest Fight For Bivol By A Mile; Hope He Accepts The Challenge

Eddie Hearn hopes their inverted insistence on different weight limits for their rematch doesn't prevent Dmitry Bivol and Canelo Alvarez from fighting again next. Bivol thus far has demanded that their second fight take place at the super middleweight maximum of 168 pounds

If I was Bivol I wouldn't fight him until I could go to 168 out of spite for Sulamain. WBC are blocking the belt for Canelo and f'n up the LHW unification. I really am constantly surprised how Sulamain can get worse as a person. His depravity is shocking. The WBC is a joke.

Yeah I feel this as well, also young Ed treating The Bivol like a challenger

what part of him fighting canelo is a 'challenge?' he barely needed to get out of second gear in the first fight... hence why he wants it at 168 and to fight canelo whilst hes weight drained to see if he can give him a chance.... its like when i used to play my ex at tennis i used to only play with my left hand otherwise its boring and too easy otherwise

I hope he doesn't give in to these clowns. 168 or no rematch.

"Canelo gave him the opportunity?" No. BIVOL was the champion. BIVOL "gave him the opportunity." Canelo would be "giving him the opportunity" at 168.

You’re absolutely correct but this is viewed by many in terms of purse. So they see it as Canelo giving Bivol the chance for his biggest payday.

Bivol has already proven that Nelo is no match for him @ 175.... Nelo needs to show that he can defeat Bivol in a fight @ 168 which Bivol is insisting to happen to at least give Nelo a better fighting chance.... Beating GGG and Ryder @ 168 is no proof that Nelo can handle Bivol this time around @ 175 while Bivol easily dispatch a huge 175 in Zurdo cementing his hold @ 175...

I've mentioned it before but I think many people miss the fact that Canelo has already beat about 7 guys who are just as big or bigger than Bivol on fight night. Bivol is a small LHW. He's 6' and came in at 183 vs Canelo on fight night. Danny Jacobs is also 6' and weighed as much or more than that on fight night vs. GGG at MIDDLEWEIGHT. By comparison Zurdo (also a LHW) is 6'2"-6'3" and came in at 204 on fight night vs Boesel.

Jacobs, Yildirim, Kovalev, and once again Bivol are all 6'. Plant, Fielding and Chavez are all 6'1". Smith is 6'3". I'm sure they all weigh at least as much as Bivol on fight night.

The only reason Canelo doesn't want to fight him at 168 is because he doesn't want to get gutted of all his belts (and I don't blame him).
