He doesn’t have the leverage to force anything in a rematch. He’s not making a 10th of what he gets for a second Canelo fight.
Like Tank reminded us, it’s prize fighting.
His leverage is that he beat Canelo already, and now Canelo wants the rematch. Cinnabon could have just demanded the rematch using his clause after the fight, but he chose not to, instead running off to fight an ancient GGG. He's so arrogant and smug that he believes that he can demand whatever he wants whenever he wants on his terms even after losing to that opponent.

Canelo’s making $30-50 million no matter who he fights next.
Sure he wants the rematch but even he said if Bivol doesn’t take the terms then there are other fights out there for him.
Where is Bivol making anywhere near what he gets vs Canelo?
Leverage is about who has the best options.

You can alway's count on Eddie Hearn to lie instead of stating the truth. It's like you said that Bivol gave him the opportunity to fight for his 175 pound title.
The opportunity that Canelo gave Bivol was to make the most money he's earned in his career by accepting Canelo's challenge, in their first fight.
Bivol should continue to use the 168 pound fight limit, but only as a ploy to get them to offer him more money for the rematch at 175 pound's.

If they fight at 168 Canelo might be the victor. Maybe even at 175 but either way it will be a good fight.

              More slave trader junior bullshido!
The 2 biggest fight's for Bivol are at 175 Beterbiev undesputed or Canelo at 168 undesputed.
Canelo at 175 in boxing terms Bivol gains nothing & Canelo has nothing to loose, the Ls been long gone (there should be more) & he get's to stay sm undesputed??
Bivol should demand 168 undesputed if the belts & promoter's won't let him undespute at 175.
Bivol or Benividez at 168 Edward.

If you keep commenting about money first, your not a fan of the sport of boxing.

It’s a no brainer to take it.

No, the Canelo haters were howling that if the rematch is at 168 then Bivol is being weight-drained.

Now that he’s asking for the rematch to be at 175 they are changing their tune and criticizing that too. Because it’s what haters do.
You're right, people changes they narratives with the wind. I thought that he want him to drained him, but it's bivol who wants the fight at 168lbs, I can see both reason, canelo wants similar situation as the first fight, and for some reason bivol wants the belts at 168lbs. And for both, the reason can be interpreted as a build in excuse for the loser. Maybe bivol doesn't want to lose at his natural weight, I doubt that's the reason, but I can see canelo's fans using it, and maybe ginger doesn't want to give him the chance to beat him at his natural weight, that will be catastrophic for him.

The rematch will be at 175. Canelo will get washed again, maybe even stopped this time. The tragedy is that Bivol-Beterbiev will never happen.

Bivol should at least hold out for entering the ring last, as the champion who has already beaten Canelo once. How bad does Canelo want the fight? For that matter, he should be announced as Dmitry "The Canelo Slayer" Bivol. I'd love to see the look on Canelo's face lol

The word challenge is the issue. Bivol doesn’t view Canelo as a challenge at 175. He feels he needs to handicap himself to give Canelo a fair shot.
