Barboza not in a position to demand anything. He’s still barely known and no one cares about him.

Why would they, they won the purse bid. What does that say about Top Rank Arnold?

          Top Rank tripple angry:
          1. Still no opponent for Barboza, whom non of the TR fighters want to fight,
          2. Hearn refusing to pay for Barboza's desired purse (just TR's wet dream),
          3. Hearn snatching Prograis

Bad decision Prograis, now he's going to be stuck fighting on a network few care to watch against a bunch of mid-tier fighters, besides Hitchens, who is not widely known. At least he will get overpaid for his troubles, the same way that they did with Haney when he was there, but will suffer deeply with respect to his marketability and being able to get the big fights against the 140 lbers at Top Rank.

For whatever reason, a lot of TR fighters avoiding fights recently. Ramirez, Zepeda, Barboza all talked the talk but then turned down the opportunities.

The winner of a purse-bid doesn't have to negotiate though. All the negotiating was supposed to be done BEFORE the purse-bid was ordered. Barboza should be frustrated withTR for thinking the match-up was worth less than MR. Sanctioning bodies need to penalize boxers who enter purse-bids and then renege when their promoter doesn't win or the money isn't to their liking.

You are correct man, it is the state of boxing anymore. Nobody wants to fight anyone that gives them a challenge in the ring. Fighters beleive if they make the right statement in the right boxing circles people will understand them. I do not want to understand a fighters mentality as far as match making goes. I do nt want to see clearly how promoters get there fights lined up. Get real any fan of boxing wants to see action-- action in the ring. Show me your ring mentality not you thoughts on money who cares about all that. We used to get excited about the fight and the fight that leads to another fight being made, not anymore endless talk. Fighters used to let the ring skills speak for themselves now everyone explains away why they wont get in the ring. His fault her fault like a bunch of children anymore. Damn fighters act like they are so helpless "oh if i could only get a good fight" oh i try so hard but i am helpless. Make it happen do your talking in the ring ................

Just go ahead and make Ramirez vs. Barboza for TR, and Catterrall vs. Hitchins for MatchRoom!
