Go for it. Nothing bad go say about his aspirations but I think it'll be same results if not worst.

I'm not a "fighter" fan just a fight fan. I try to predict who wins upcoming matches. I bet that Canelo Alvarez will not fight any mandatory or Bivol at 168 that can threaten to take those titles that's not like a 20-1 underdog! I don't have an avatar but if Canelo wins I'll post at the bottom of all my posts for a year "Canelo is my hero". I'll bet that Canelo does not become my hero.
What do we do if we're proven right, though? Put something like "I told y'all Canelo was ducking." at the bottom of our posts?Comment

I think Canelo is doing a mistake here. GGG fights and Bivol fight already took a lot from him.
Another tough Bivol fight with very likely a late stoppage loss would took ages from him.
After that he will be an easy target even for the fighters he should beat.

Gotta respect canelo for going with same rules and terms and not weakening bivol by bring him down to 168. Win or lose, I admire canelo for that. I believe canelo will eventually fight Benavides and all of his other threats cause right now, bivol is his biggest threat…
For the record, I’m not a pinche Mexican (respectfully lol).Comment

The fact that Canelo wants to rematch the guy that dominated him deserves praise. He could have accepted the loss and fought some lower-level guys to close out his career but the rematch shows he is daring. I'm interested to see if either he or Bivol will perform better, or worse in a rematch.Comment

Roy Jones said something that hadn't even occured to me:
Canelo already went up and beat Kovalev at 175 and then came back down to 168 , so going back up to 175 again and fight Bivol and prove anything or 'challenge himself" just didn't make any sense. He could have gone up to cruiser and fight Badou Jack.
Another opinion on YouTube I read is not so far fetched.
Canelo naturally wants to retire with all the 168 belts and if he loses again (badly) against Bivol, he could announce that he feels he could have won but that all the injuries and years of fighting have taken his toll and it is time to retire. This way he could give up the belts without them being taken.
I just don't see Canelo at this stage in his career risking every single belt he has against agressive, hungry opponents like a Benavidez or Morrell. If he loses the belts I think it is highly doubtful he will be regaining them again.Last edited by PerfectJab; 05-08-2023, 03:37 PM.Comment

I'm glad to see somebody else putting themselves out there willing to back up their predictions with potential consequences if they're wrong.

Same terms?
including financial terms? Seems wrong to me. Bivol’s share of the purse should be higher given his momentum and the fact he’s already won decisively
if the fight is at 168, then yeah same split as before would seem fairComment

Yes. Bivol should demand much more money this time.Comment
