Canelo fought the fight he wanted to fight

He could've easily showed off his boxing skills, head movement, ring generaliship, etc. If he wanted to.

He wanted to put on a toe to toe show for his fans. It was his homecoming. For all intents and purposes, mission accomplished.

It was a bloody, exciting fight for the fans. He almost stopped Ryder, and Ryder had every reason to quit.

Canelo is still elite. He beats Charlo and Benavidez is a toss up fight

He looked like he has in his last 4 or so fights , come forward expecting everybody to just fall over.

Except he didn't put on a show for his fans. He never left first gear. He was getting tagged by a C-level fighter. Bivol will give him the business.

Got tagged by choice. There's a difference

And the crowd seemed to enjoy the fight

That was not toe to toe, Canelo was eating uppercuts and didn't throw enough punches (as usual), Ryder fought like a coward after round 2

Ryder is no easy out for anyone. Canelo did the best he could with what he had in front of him, which was a first rate professional fighter who was willing to go out on his shield.
