I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If Prograis signed with Matchroom, I will hope at least the biggest fights can be made until I am proven wrong. I am dumb enough to be a boxing fan, so I will gullible enough to have hope cross-promotion fights here at 140 (where there is not a dominate star) can be made to everyone's benefit.

I will watch anything with Prograis in it, at least to a point. He fights.

The "long run" is subject to change. Everyone that TR currently has (especially Haney, Taylor and Teo) may want to move around after their contracts are up. The prevailing opinion is that Prograis should've signed to TR if he wanted the likes of Ramirez and Teofimo. I believe Prograis did the next best thing: signed with a promotion that has a decent 140lb stable, can guarantee some level of stability (unlike Probellum), and has the budget to be competitive in purse-bids. Let's not forget that Ramirez and Teofimo have already fought on DAZN before. Prograis currently has Paro on his plate, with Catterall on the menu. If he gets through them, then maybe Prograis faces Taylor/Teo winner. I think the most meaningful TR match-up is Ramirez/Barboza, from a rankings perspective. It could serve as a title eliminator for the WBC and WBO.

I enjoy watching Progrey fight too, yet i do notice all his ring activity has been about the money first. The challenge second, the challenge in the ring talking about not the challenge of getting the money he wants. That has taken progrey in a lot of directions with who and on what platform he performs on. It looks to me like it has really effected who he matchs up with thru out his time in the ring.

Yes, that's true. It's very possible that many of those same fighters may not be with a Top Rank a year or two from now. However, only time will reveal if Prograis made the right decision.

Hope he didn't sign for more than 3 fights. You can't gamble and go longer with these promoters unless you're ready to be used or planning your retirement from the sport.
