Official Loma vs Haney prediction thread

I see Haney jumping out to a 5-2 lead heading into the 8th round, but this is where things will start to get interesting

Haney will we very sharp for the first 3 rounds, possibly being up 3-0 while using his jab and clinch.

Look for Loma to win rounds 4 and 6.

But by the start of the 9th round, Loma will start to get through while Haney starts to get warned for clinching

I see Haney being hurt in the 11th round. If he's able to survive, he'll win a split decision

If not, I got Loma by stoppage in 12

Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Haney win the first 3 rounds. He's good at banking early rounds. But I could also see Loma scoring a knockdown or two in the middle to late rounds, which could throw a big wrench in the scores. I think one or the other is going to prove he's on a different level from the other. Just not sure who it will be. Right now, if I have to choose, I'm taking Loma by decision, or late stoppage, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Haney wins a decision by a few rounds, maybe even 8-4. Depends on whether he can keep Loma on the outside.

So far throughout his career, Haney has never demonstrated either the skill or the style to beat Lomachenko. On the other hand, Lomachenko is a master at dealing with jab heavy boxers.

Haney is extremely susceptible to the southpaw left. JoJo Diaz, a crude southpaw who fights in spurts, repeatedly got past Haney's jab and hit him cleanly. Lomachenko has better power than most realize, so Haney could definitely get hurt at some point. Issue for him is that he doesn't have the power to keep Lomachenko off of him, nor does he fight well on the inside or keep active. So once Lomachenko presses him, what's he going to do? Lomachenko has an extremely tricky feinting game that makes him hard to time.

Style wise, this fight seems like a nightmare for Haney. Unless he shows vast improvement from his last few fights, Lomachenko should beat him up to a late stoppage or clear decision.

I agree with you. Not sure why people are writing off Loma. I’m not rooting for either fighter. But objectively, Haney is going to have to be a different fighter to CLEARLY win this fight. Is he capable? Sure!

For Loma, he’s going to have to be Loma of old. At his best, it’s still going to be a razor close fight. Loma is too small and doesn’t have enough pop. BUT, he’s resourceful. Key to victory for him is to not be predictable with his angles. Use his experience to discourage Haney with the intangibles.

I have a draw but that could change depending on how good or bad Haney looks at the weigh in.

Haney is going to utilize his size advantage to lean and clinch his say to an ugly, boring decision.

Whatever happens, I'm putting my money on Lomachenko. The odds are too inviting.

Isn't there already a thread about this fight?

Rooting for Loma but hankey should take it.

If there's an upset I predict his jackass father bill to make a ruckus

I just have a very strange feeling that haney is gonna bring way more power in this fight then he has ever shown before. I think he takes loma apart in every single way.. nothing that a old young or mid loma could ever do about it.
