I look at their records, and falcao was number 6 in one of the alphabet soups(WBC), just like Allen was #1 for the WBA when they fought for the interim belt. You know there's politics and money involved in those rankings. He didn't have a lot amateur fights. He did have international experience and defected young enough, If you don't see his talents, what can I say? You don't see it, you don't see it. I'll tell you this, benavidez started fighting similar opposition in his 14 or 15 fight, Morell jr started from his second fight. You can say whatever you want, but 0-8, 1-7, 0-0, is not the same as a guy 22-0, 15-1 or 16-0. Definitely the last three are better than the first three. One sure thing, ain't going to be easy. Do you know they're three more Cubans ranked in the SMW division?

Somebody else mentioned here on Boxing Scene; Cubans are talented fighters, but rarely make it to the top. Who was the most recent, Joel Casamayor? We will see how far Morrell goes my friend, we will see.

What I'm to reply to you, I have posted before.
The problem with athletes from Cuba, is that they spent the better years representing those SOB'S over there, when they open their eyes it is a little too late, and people don't know how hard it is for someone that has all his family back in the Island to absorb a new culture. There's a change now, and they defecting younger, with less mileage. And no it wasn't Casamayor, Lara still doing it, Juan C. Gomez is the CW with more defenses, Yoan Pablo was a CW champ too, injuries took him out, he was old when he defected, Barthelemy is a two division champ, once he lost his hunger it was over. The new wave is different, the Hurtado's, Gomez y Casamayor paved the way for the new and younger blood. Check this names, Yoelvis Gomez, Osley Iglesias, Ariel Perez, Andy Cruz is an example of defecting late, he's here now and should be in the fast track, fighting for a belt around his 10 fight, just like Ramirez. The juvenile squad defected last year in Dubai, all inder 19 yo. Things are going to change. Be safe my friend.Comment
