In prime, who is the better fighter, COTTO or VARGAS????

WTF is everyone talking about...who was the prime Vargas? The one that got KTFO by Tito and got knockdown by Rivera a nobody in his comeback fight. Or the one that pumped steroids into his veins and got KTFO again and later KTFO by Mosley. You guys are fkng ridiculous

He fought with courage and all that but cotto its superior in everyway, jab, ring generalship, speed, footwork, intelligence etc etc...

i liked him a lot back then, but he was no Cotto. Vargas has 5 ko losses.
Cotto has one loss to one guy that got banned for attempting to use an illegal substance in his gloves.

Cotto is no doubt a better fighter. His skill is better, left hook, combos, moves better, just an all around better boxer, with that said Vargas is a bigger fighter with skill almost as good and would probably beat Cotto.
As far as saying Cotto doesnt have the heart of Vargas,,,,spare me.

Like Mr. Pink said, Vargas went 4/5 against Winky, Campas, Marquez, Quartey, and Trinidad in a 2 year span beginning when he was 21 and ending when he was 23. If this is not impressive, I don't know what is.

Hahaha vargas had potential but IMO he wasnt well managed, he was too young when he tried to prove himself. And he failed, valiantly but he failed...

Cotto HAS PROVED himself as an elite fighter, and his only loss ( which i think he lost fair and square ) was a full of controversy fight of the year so dont compare that to all the losses of vargas

And I give him props for that, but Vargas' opponents in that 2-year span are better than these guys. Also, Vargas was 21-23, which makes it all the more impressive. Cotto was 25-27 when he fought those guys.

Thats what i am trying to say. finally a person with common sense. Vargas could have been ATG if he waited longer to fight the elites. Imagine a young Vargas fighting an older Tito and DLH. I think he would have been able to pull it out. Cotto at 22 would have been sent to the hospital badly by Tito.
