I'm gonna be honest. I 'm gonna say what no other poster on here seems to not be saying. Quote me, Hopkins should NOT get ANY credit for beating a PAST PRIME, SHOT, 40 year old Roy Jones Jr. I thought you would already know this Street.

I wanted this fight cause I'm a Roy Jones fan and i want to see this shot Roy, clown this hyped up B-Hop. I'm a fan of both but let's be realistic, Jones is a ghost of who he us to be. Jone sis fighting for his fans not himself. For him to have 2 wins over Hopkins means bragging rights over Hopkins for the rest of his life.

I have never said Hopkins is ducking Roy to fight Dawson or Adamek, but I did say Jones is the BIGGER, more LUCRATIVE, fan appealing fight of the 3, and a huge fight in the east coast regardless of their age.

Jones will decision Hopkins and he'll go out on top by beating a top 5 P4P version of Hopkins, which means more than the first one because Hopkins was supposedly "too green" and "nowhere near as polished and skilled a she is now" while Roy is universally known as shot, past prime, and gunshy.

This is a money fight for Hopkins. But it's a money fight, retirement fight, leave on top-fight, and legacy fight for Jones.

    Jones will retire as:

Michael Buffer: Former Middleweight Champion, Former Super Middleweight Champion, Former Light Heavyweight Champion, Former Crusierweight Champion, and Former Heavyweight Champion of the world...

    ROY...Joooooones..Juniorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

No, he won't. Jones is not relevant at the elite level any more. What more needs to be done to prove it? WHat does he need to go another 6 years without beating even a B/B+ level fighter?

I'm not happy Roy is taking this fight. I was all good with him doing the retirement rounds after getting touched up by Joe and just fighting C/B- guys til he had had enough, but Bernard is still a beast and I just don't think Roy has it anymore to compete at that high level.

Also, to those who will respond, please spare me the style beats fights line. I'm aware of all that ****, I just don't think it applies when a fighter is a shell of his former self.

I'm with those who said no and little, so why is B-Hop wasting his time, when there was ALOT of options? ALOT!

I'm guessing money and an easy win that he has wanted for a long time. I don't blame him for taking it.

I am a fan of RJJ and want him to win but I give all the credit in the world to B-hop if he wins. They are both old and past their best, Roy perhaps more past his expiration date but B-hop is indeed older. I hope for a competitive fight though in any case and would expect that both retire after....may the best man win.

Now that he has turned around and said **** it, took 50-50 when he has little to proove in a fight that means more to Jones at the moment, will you guys who were stating that he was avoiding Jones (you know who you are) give the man credit if he beats him?
did Calzaghe get credit for makin' Roy look bad?!?.....come on bully!!.....you know how the haters get down my dude!!!.....B.Hop aint gettin' no credit for this one.......its the NEXT one that'll have the haters on mute......Dawson or Adamek!!!!

Because EVERYONE on this board thinks ROY is finished and shot...even B Hop himself thinks so.....

Roy beating B Hop would be a BAD look for B Hop

did you give all the credit in the world to Calzaghe when he beat RJJ? huh? Calzaghe beat a year fresher version of rjj than hopkins would if he does it. and did you give any credit to Calzaghe when he beat Hopkins? I thought not.

as usual you americans play by double standards.

Puzzled as to why you cannot comprehend this. Don't mean to sound like a prick but its really pretty obvious.

On one hand you have a guy in the top 4 pound for pound coming off a victory against the Middleweight Champion of the World who is still yet to be dominated in his entire career and on the other you have a guy without a relevant victory on the elite stage for 6 years.

I would hardly say it is ***n rocket science, son.

like alot of people on here are saying, if a 36 year old calzaghe did, a 45 year old hopkins sure as hell can.
