The fight definitely makes sense, but I guess as always, they're talking dollars sense, milk as many millions as possible, while still in this sport.
Haney is a fair amount better than Ryan, no doubt, but Tank would have a good chance of beating Haney. Davis is very cerebral, takes his time and figures an opponent out.
Shakur is a different kettle of fish, more of a puzzle. I'm surprised that Shakur didn't win the Olympic gold medal, but ok, amateur fights and scoring is just different.Comment

Both Haney and Stevenson use there power differently than Tank, but that doesn't mean they lack power to reach what they want to do to tank with the power they have. Sure tank has more power that's a fact that doesn't need discussing. Haney and Stevenson use there power to deter there opponent from advancing while doing what they need to do to gain points, While dissecting there opponents moves and countering there opponents in the process. Tank also has a lot of those traits but decides to use his power more and in a different way (aka find the knockout). It will be interesting to see if he digs into that portion of his bag of tricksand pulls out more of those traits in these fights when they happen.
Haney has enough power to stop Tank from advancing his gameplan, obviously I don't see Haney or Stevenson knocking tank down or out but that's not the way they fight anyway. Without a different approach Tank will have a lot of trouble with Haney, his usual stick and download info stick and download info and then go for the knockout might not work well with Haney and Stevenson to a degree he's going to have to add more to that gameplan and make it more complex to read.
I say Stevenson to a degree because Stevenson just barely arrived at 135lbs and we don't know how he will evolve into the 135lb class at this point just yet.
A great example of using your power to do what you want to an opponent that has more power then you is Floyd vs Canelo. No one can say Floyd has more power by any means but he has enough to slow Canelo down and to make Canelo think hey he hits harder then I thought, I cant just walk in and do what I want. This also makes the opponent start to think oh how can I adjust to this while all this is happening Floyd is raking in points. Most opponents really don't have that adjustment plan for a boxer that has deceptive power like Floyd and when they do find a plan its too late and Floyd switches plans a second time or third time. He also did this to Cotto. Cotto being a good boxer was able to adjust late in the middle round (pretty sure you saw that) but Floyd was able to adjust a round later and finish the fight without issue also while wobbling Cotto late in the last round.Comment

Haney doesn’t go out there looking to KO you. He will look to fight like a paranoid hummingbird on crack.
He will OUT POINT AND Hold Tank in a very boring and UGLY fight.Comment

I disagree with Calvin Floyd. Devin Haney is both surgically, scientifically and more fundamentally sound than Ryan Garcia. He is also a masterful strategist with a very high ring IQ. In addition, he has a good jab and uses spacing, range, distancing and length as the naturally larger man; A whole lot better than R. Garcia does.Comment

I think Devin would be Tank’s most difficult opponent. He has great footwork and an excellent consistent jab. I have no problem seeing him winning a decision. But the reality is, no matter how skilled he is, Tank will still eventually get to him. Can Devin stand up to that type of freakish power??? 27 out of 29 opponents couldn’t, and I personally don’t think he could either, nor Shakur. Tank is that special fighter of this generation. He’s Ali, Leonard, and Mayweather. He is of that cloth. Both Devin and Shakur are A class fighters, but Tank is elite. He has that X factor that separates him from the rest.Comment

You see this all the time, the general population falling in love with a power puncher. I think all 3 are legit and wouldn't be surprised if they each could beat each other in a round robin. I hate when people reduce it to just power as if history isn't littered with instances of a power puncher running into someone that could take their power or disarmed them.
Tank has boxing skills, IQ and power. His issue with Haney and Shakur is that they also have IQ and skills but also have physical advantages and would likely use them to their benefit. I still think Shakur is going to be the better of them all and I favor him head to head over anyone at 135 but wouldn't be shocked if either of these guys beat the otherComment

Gotta love the overlooking of Loma. What happens if Loma stops Haney? I think Shakur would beat Haney in any case, and I'm not convinced Tank gets in the ring with any of the top guys. Probably why he likes secondary titles so much, since they don't seem to care about mandatory obligations for that, so he can pretend he's a world champion.Comment
