Garcia and Davis did each other a favor: Garcia gave Davis his first 1 million buy PPV, and Davis' weight stipulations gave Garcia a built-in excuse for his poor performance. Contrary to the promotional narrative, this match-up didn't save Boxing. I don't give a fxck how many celebrities were in attendance. The casual audience got hustled into purchasing a main-event mismatch. Davis and Garcia won, not the fans.
Pardon my cynicism lol

It can be a major advantage if they can and the other guy cant, makes them a lot bigger in the fight that's why they do it, its shaky ground when no two fellas are exactly the same weight then add 30 hrs to rehydrate and pandora's box is opened, the fairest way is to be within so many pounds right before the fight, maybe no more than 4 apart in the lighter weights and 6 apart in the higher weights at fight time, if your not you lose a big chunk of your purse to the guy that was within the scale, its all so open to manipulation the way it is.Comment

oh is this just hating? draining your opponents nonstop and never fighting top 5 guys. dont you have any dignity? why defend this? its not like he fights some good fighters and then does this from time to time. he does this every fight.Comment

you arent being objective if you just dismiss it as hating and dont see it for what it is, trying to get a competitive advantage. whether it does give him an advantage is up to you since its not possible to measure that accurately. i would say it does give him a good advantage seeing as boxing has weight divisions and weigh ins for a reason and hes going outside the norms to make sure his opponent is at a different weight then they normally would be at and they arent able to rehydrate the way they normally would.Last edited by daggum; 04-27-2023, 08:59 PM.Comment
