I respect people who fight. It is what this sport needs. Garcia is by no means done. He just now knows that he has work to do.
Well said, I agree with you .

I have said many times that boxing fans are part of the problem in boxing. MMA fans appreciate fighters win or lose but in boxing you mainly hear discouraging words when a fighter lost. It's one thing pointing to observed shortcomings and it's something else saying that he's exposed, finished and must retire. Most boxing fans seem confused on what they really expect from fighters.

Is Ryan a great boxer? I think we can all agree he isn't, but to act like protecting your health is a cowardly thing to do is such a weak insecure mentality.
It's always the fake "tough" guys that talk about quitting when they can't even take a punch from a crackhead.
I dont like that either. I remember when Margarito and Cotto had their face off, Margarito was claiming he would rather die in the ring than lose by stoppage. Cotto called him ****** and pointed out that he had a wife and kids to think about. That's the way I look at it.

Quit that nonsense. You can praise RG for stepping up which in itself supposed to be a normal thing in any sport bar boxing these days. Tank deserves the bigger praise for a job well done. Both fighters were subjected to the same stipulations. What won the fight was the skill gap between both fighters. Boxing is a sport where weight is used to create fairness. Weight bullying is cheating.

Besides, RG still outweighed Tank and has a longer reach. Before the bout he said he has never been so strong in his life and his trainer confirmed that the rehydration clause wasn't an issue. So, all these nonsensical excuses only diminish the sportsmanship RG showed direct after the bout. Excuses are for sore losers. You and your ilk have to understand that.

            Reality hurts huh..

Rehydration nonsense tainted the fight.. it is what it is.. can’t put everything in your favor and then expect acclaim in the end.. you leave yourself susceptible to major criticism.. Ryan made the fights happen.. salute to him as the new face of boxing.. numbers don’t lie, get over it.

Totally seems like a genuine guy. Very likable. Deserves the level of success he’s truly earned.

Not sure what there is to risk. Anybody alive would’ve taken this fight if they were in Ryan’s shoes. He’s an unestablished boxer with 0 meaningful wins, no world titles and based in his talk, he got an opportunity to make millions against a top p4p fighter when he’d done nothing to deserve it. Then he quit in the ring. 0 reason to praise him. He scammed the public and made out like a bandit doing so.

Fair point but the level of punishment Cotto took from loaded wraps vs Margarito over 11 rounds isn’t even close to what Ryan experienced over 7 vs tank. Cotto looked like he physically couldn’t continue. Ryan coincidentally was able to stand up as soon as the ref said 10.

Did chavez ever explain why he quit on his stool against that bum Grover Wiley? Or why he kept noding no against Oscar dela hoya in his corner? Someone should remind him about those two.
