Curious, is boxing just not popular in the UK compared to other European countries? I thought I was reading here how fast Haye and Klit sold out.

90% of the people who bought tickets were Klit fans, the other 10% were Haye fans.

Out of 200 people I know well, and about another 300 that I know fairly well.

None of them are boxing fans. Some ( About 3 ) of them watch boxing, but turn off after it goes into the championship rounds.

Never ever ever ever had a decent boxing chat with anyone I know.

Yeah, it sold out fast in Germany.

In UK they'd have to give away tickets to get people to pack an arena of 20k.

Calzaghe is a god in Wales, Hatton is a god in Manchester, Khan is a god to the Pakistan community in the UK. That's about it.

Can't say its very big in Northern Ireland but that's just from personal experience, it's mostly just hardcore fans. I don't actually know anyone one else who watches boxing. My mates can't understand why I sit up to 5am every friday and sat night to watch absolutely any boxing thats on. Then I pester them the next day about the fights, when in reality they dont give a **** lol... although I have persuaded some of them to come to the Rogan/Sexton rematch in November.

I think the lack of tv coverage and 3am fights from America have pretty much killed the casual fan over here.

There's a decent casual boxing following in UK but not too many fans if you get me.

                  In my experience anyway.
