It's natural really - you lose and you look for an excuse rather than blame it on your skills. Maybe that's why he even signed the contract? - it was the safe option. If he lost, he could always blame the weight.
So was the rehydration clause just made up???

Tank caused the excuse to exist **** ppl still bitxh about canelo wins because one guy didn't have enough time to train etc.

The rehydration clause was real nothing fake about it now tank has to live with it too..

The win has an asterisk and the defeat has an excuse. Which is all a bit of a shame when boxing is a pretty simple formula. Two men get in the ring - the best man wins.

I doubt it was Garcia who asked for the clauses though. Think on that.

I enjoyed the build up and the fight so I don't particularly care. But if that's what it's going to take to get a big fight with Tank then he's still on shaky ground with me in terms of his reputation. That's not daring to be great.

You lost fair, and square don't start making up excuses now, the better fighter won on Saturday.
Al the fighters that accept a catchweight said the same

Its pretty obvious its a great handicap, Ryan looked pretty bad and zombie

Yeah right motherfucker! Let the excuses begin. You lost because Tank is simply the better fighter. It's just that plain and simple. Gervonta had a rehydration clause too.

He would have found a way to whoop your ass at any weight because you just don't try hard enough and lack the balls in order to defeat him. The bottom line is that Davis wanted the win a lot more than you

Ryan can easily show us all, that at full strength, 140lbs., without rehydration clauses, he's a fighter on the level with Tank, Devin, Shakur, Teofimo, Boots, and Vergil! All he had to do is fight someone like Richardson Hitchins, Jeremias Ponce, or Sandor Martin at 140, and dominate them, like Tank did to him, or Shakur did to Yoshino, or Haney did to Kambo! I'm not even asking him to face the real hitters at 140! Will he do it? Time will tell?

I think Ryan didn't have an intelligent game plan. He could've avoided Davis's Sunday punch, which is considerable, if he adhered to a good plan. He thought he could just go in there with his regular approach and that didn't work. No plan B etc. Kudos to Davis for fighting the way he knew would work. Ryan should have boxed and not followed a puncher around.
I don't know what his corner was telling him. But he needs to learn some new methods.

It probably had an effect for sure.

Ryan fighting that way; not utilising his height and reach advantage enough, gets beat by Tank, everytime, even if it was 140 lbs, not 136 lbs initial weigh-in.

No rematch interest. Would be interesting to see if Ryan could beat a powerful light welterweight like Gary Antuanne Russell, or a good champ in Prograis.

Curious to know what his weight would have been without the rehydration clause. These guys squeeze into a division that they really dont belong in just to get an advantage. Ryan should have moved on and built a high profile fight with Haney at 140 as we all know Loma is his last fight at 135
