Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Comes In At 144.9 Pounds For 2nd-Day Weigh-In, Gervonta Davis Weighs 144.1

LAS VEGAS - Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia made weight late Saturday morning for the second time in less than 24 hours. Garcia and Davis both came in below the 146-pound limit for their second-day weigh-in, which was held behind closed doors less than 10 hours before they'll fight Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Both boxers are free to add as much weight as they want from the time of their second-day weigh-in until they enter the ring for their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event.

See? Ryan is fine, he made weight perfectly because he's young. All that noise about the rehydration. Now he can have at it, do some pH water and he'll be fine for the fight.

For this guy Ryan needs all his strength and speed. If he is sluggish, it will be like Pacquiao vs De la Hoya.

Funny how Ellerbe got all worked up yet didn’t address anything Oscar said.

Ah the information I wanted to know. Glad they both made the second weigh-in limit easily. I think Ryan goes in the ring over 150 lbs.

I guess it's pasta and other carbs before the fight.

People need to shut tfu their both professional and will be over 147-150 range by fight time both way over 135 lightweight limit and fair play would be same day weighin but no they will continue to create unfairness for others who can’t get the weight advantage. I still hope Gervonta knock his pretty Ricky aSs out!

Can anyone explain how it is humanly possible to gain 10-15 pounds within 24 hrs? Are they really just that dehydrated?

                    You answered your own question.

They aren't "gaining" weight. They dehydrate themselves to make the weight then re-hydrate back to their actual weight 24 hours later.
