It was all downhill for Ruiz after he beat Joshua for the vacant Snickers Championship belt. Nash out snickers.jpg

The next logical fight because Brewster had a detached retina. He was in hospital for 6 months with extreme pain and word of that got back to Wladimir. That's why he chose to fight him at that particular time. It was no coincidence, he timed it to catch Brewster at a very low point in his life and career.

Lol the point is Wlad didn't fight Brewster again until Brewster had a detach retina and was barred from fighting in the USA.

That’s what you say but the real story he was more then ready as no one can be medically cleared with anything close to the eye injury you described to go into a fight in modern times and Brewsters own recollections on it doesn’t match yours . Lol

“Wladimir and Lamon arrived for the weight-in around one o’clock. First, they presented documentations of over twenty-five tests to a medical board, to prove that they are healthy and able to fight. Then, both fighters were examined by the official doctor of the GBO (German Boxing Organization, which has licensed Wladimir Klitschko’s fight against Lamon Brewster II).

During medical examination, Wladimir and Lamon had their temperature and blood pressure checked, while the doctor checked for any visual symptoms. Both Wladimir and Lamon were cleared to fight.”

Of course Brewster was medically cleared to fight in Klitschko's hometown. State the obvious. He was suspended from fighting in the USA for a reason though. So that fight wouldn't have even been allowed to happen if they tried to host it in USA. You're selectively missing the point.

Brewster couldn't train properly because he'd been recovering from the eye injury for such a long time. He couldn't even do a light work out for half a year. Remember he needed 3 surgeries in that year of inactivity leading up to the Klitschko fight. That's precisely the reason why Klitschko wanted to fight him at that particular time. Brewster was at a very low point in his career and life, and in poor condition for a pro fight. It's not even a debatable issue, when viewing it objectively.
