    Nunn was owning James Toney and he was moving away of his right but never expect James Toney left to leave him cold.

      ''Owning'' is too strong a word.The last few rounds before the KD Nunn was getting caught more and more nad his output was going down.

      Toney fought tremendous.

        He was controlling the fight.

        But I remeber Nunn corner side beware of his right hand BAM Toney hit him with his left.

          [QUOTE=Benncollinsaad;6208826]Roy Jones was supposed to fight Michael Nunn for the defence of his WBC lhw title in early '98, but he suddenly wanted to fight Buster Douglas instead and vacated it. As we know, Douglas was garbage by then and it musta been a safer alternative somewhat to fight him rather than a guy like Nunn. Even if he wasn't no longer in his prime, Nunn would still be a very tough fight for Jones and Jones knew it. He was much taller than Jones, yet he wasn't much slower than him. He could also punch and Jones was aware of this.

          Ironically, Nunn went on to lose against the clever German fighter Rocchigiani on SD and Jones decided to return to the division right afterwards. Somehow he got restored as the "real" champ without having to fight Rocchigiani and the German himself first got demoted to interim champ and then stripped completely. He sued and got 31 mill in damages. Sordid affair, hm?[/QUOTE }

          Jones would have destroy Nunn.. Roy Jones was one of the greatest fighters who ever lived and was virtually unbeatable until he "Lost his legs" in his mid 30s he then never had the chin to take punishment like Muhammad Ali did.. yet Roy Jones with his legs was in the Cassius Clay league.. Michael Nunn would not have lasted long

            His level of opposition was always questioned, so in my eyes he never really proved he was the ONE.

              Telesco, Harding, Del Valle were all better than Nunn right? Jones hit Telesco with the kitchen sink, his best shots and could not budge him, and he had trouble with left handers.

                For the first 7 he did control it.I thought he lost the 8th and 9th and the 10th was even.He never hurt Toney,he just outworked him with his output and speed.Toney was trying to much for the 1 punch KO.
                He started putting combinations together and it was well...Lights Out.
