  • Comments Thread For: Hearn on Joshua's Next Fight: It Will Come in The Middle East, in December, Against Fury or Wilder

Eddie Hearn has revealed the working plan for Anthony Joshua's 2023 schedule. The promoter of the former heavyweight champion said his company, Matchroom, will look to close a deal for Joshua to return to the ring in December--or nine months from his win over Jermaine Franklin earlier this month--in the Middle East in a "big fight" involving either WBC titlist Tyson Fury or fellow former titlist Deontay Wilder.

If he stays inactive till December to fight Wilder, it's a cash-out.
It's surprising to see someone with so much money risking his health and life for more money.
One question. How much is enough?

Why not take one more easier summer fight with new trainer? This ain't gonna end well for AJ

You've just got to laugh ....talk about flogging a dead horse! All the fighters are looking for opponents , it's only April! ...It's no wonder his last 'comeback' contest was on April the 1 st and still some clowns are fooled by this? ...! Happy Christmas but to be truthful nobody can be sure which one ...They know he's done , he's all but retired and is conning folk for one last payday based on his faded name...what a farce!

If they got all four on the same card - that would be the biggest event in boxing history!!

No matter what you think of Eddie he does a fantastic job of keeping AJ in the headlines. Even after that April fight, the failed to make December fight and that AJ is clearly not the draw he once was.

I'm a sucka for it though. It could happen. But Fury hates him and Wilder could be line to fight Fury for a 4th time about then anyway.

To make Fury -AJ as big as it can be, needs AJ to be winning and have a belt. Wonder if theres a plan for that?

It's a cash earner, but why a cash out?

Wilder, presumably, would also be staying inactive until December if that's what the brokers want.

If they're offered a load of cash, and the fight that they want that would propel either of them right back into the mix, and a fight that would go a long way to defining their position in this era... why is that a cash out? It's just doing what it takes to make a massive fight, which is supposedly what everyone wants. Presumably it's what you want?

Your post comes across as just defaulting to criticising Joshua. Apologies if I've got that wrong.

The fight can never be as big as it was. They all ballsed that up.

Maybe the risk that it only reduces from here will motivate them to do it now.

Either could lose again in a 'tune up'.

And the fight is still pretty big. I know I'd be pumped for it.

AJ isn’t ready for either of those guys. I can see him getting knocked out by both.
