Floyd's beaten some good and occasionally great fighters but he's hardly fighting in the ww/mw SRL, Hearns, Hagler, Duran era or the MAB, Erik, JMM, and Manny era of the fws/sfw. Floyd is pretty unlucky in the sense that at ww there's really only one great true ww left and he doesn't want to fight him plus he's old and past his best now. I think Floyd during the last great ww era of Tito, joto, Quartey, and Whitaker would've been the true litmus test of his greatness and if he ran through those undefeated even haters like me would have no place to question his talent. But Floyd unfortunately came a few years too late but if he cleans out ww by beating Shane, Cotto and maybe PW if he drops back down after his probable win over Kelly I think that silences alot of people I know I wouldn't have anything negative to say. Floyd avoiding Shane for whatever reason is going backwards in regards to his legacy and if Manny loses Floyd has no business ever calling him out even if Manny dominates jww for years to come.
Floyd has never had the big 3 or 4 Manny had

floyd's big 3 were margo, mosley, and cotto.... but then he decided to retire and not fight any of them. -
Word!
If he was to fight Marg., Cotto, or Shane... id be happy and would stop being a hater.
Im not questioning his skill because he's remained undefeated for 40 fights.
But I'd like to see him in a REAL COMPETITIVE fight. The above mentioned fighters would be them.Comment

If Manny beats Cotto and says he's retiring Floyd will publically say Manny ducked him for years and he wanted to fight him back in '99 but Manny refused to move up from 112 to 130 and then again after the first JMM fight in '04 but Manny had toothache and was going on vacation and didn't want to fight Floyd at jww then.Comment

True, especially if beats Cotto he can retire and no one can say sht. Because Mayweather retired just as young and it would be with less credentials than Pacquiao. Thats why Floyd needs Pacquiao and not the other way around.Comment
