Also interesting to know that, UK Heavyweight Pele Reid has knocked Vitali out cold with a head kick in a Kickboxing match.

Reid was nothing more tha medicore level in boxing.

I don't think Vitali was ever knocked out cold. Vitali claims it was a leg kick, from what I've read it was a spinning head kick that dropped Vitali but he was on his feet when the fight was stopped.

Check out the spinning back fist at 9:15.

Hmmmmm.........Interesting, Reid claimed Vitali was out cold. Reid says he hit a direct kick on Vitali's jaw which put for Vitali out.

Reid also said, Vitali makes out like the fight never even happened. Do you think Reid would make all this up?

Yanagisawa is one tough guy to have survived the distance in that beatdown.

I think both parties exaggerate what actually happened, much like when Maskaev claimed he KO'd Vitali while Vitali claimed he was only stopped because of he went into the fight with an injury. In truth he probably did go into the fight with an injury but Maskaev was also beating him badly enough for the fight to be stopped by Vitali's corner.

He was 22. This was before his boxing career indeed.

hmm, 3 or 4 years before he turned pro, about 6 years before he won his first WBO title, and 10 years before he fought Lewis.

quite a way back for him.

True, Oleg has claimed plenty of times he knocked out Vitali in a amature bout, and I belive the result does go down as a KO loss for Vitali not, a corner stoppage so i belive.

Reid may actually be telling the truth, a Head Kick is most likely more powerfull than a punch and if hit clean with one, 99% of the time any man will be knocked out.

                    And Vitali was no different.......
