In reality Joshua needs 5 more fights with Derek in order to see a real difference (which is something that has a slim chance of happening due to the way this business is), people don't understand that you can't just jump ship and forget all the bad habits you learned with your other coaches and just start with a new trainer. Joshua has picked up a lot of bad habits and even a new trainer might not be able to steer him away from them in 1-2 fights. heck 5 fights might not be enough to take them away.

I think Joshua did learn how to exert his energy different and not gas out as fast ( sure it was with a C level fighter) he looked fresh at the end of the fight which is one of the many things he has had trouble with.

Sounds like a DAZN panic move. Their only name that could generate returns didn’t look impressive and was talking about possibly retiring. They won’t allow tune up fights, now a big fight in is the making, Wilder or Fury probably.

Too bad that will likely fall through as well due to money disagreements. We will likely get a Whyte rematch and Eddie using all his salesman gimmicks to get people to care.

AJ's team knows he has a glass jaw. The next 2 or 3 fights should be against people who can't box nor punch. AJ still has a big name and can sell tickets. By 2025 he will get his last big payday against Wilder or Fury.

Shyte/AJ 2 would be ****ing horrific. AJ/Franklin was **** too. Can you believe here we are approaching mid 2023 and AJ and Wilder are still active fighters, both now with multiple losses, and still havent gotten in the ring with each other. What a sad ****ing waste.

Great post. Most people are too quick to judge AJ with limited knowledge of the matter. For instance, when Wlad started training with Emanuel Stewart he lost his first fight by a ko and second fight was also lost before his years long domination began. The new combination simply needs sometime before the results are visible. Though we are living in an era wherein people are looking for a quick fix for everything.

Your second point is also very true. AJ carries a lot muscles which consume a lot of energy when he fights aggressively with a lot power punches and combinations. Very few fighters with his build can fight aggressively all night and maintain their gas tank without PEB. So, AJ has to throw less volume and power punches in order maintain his gas tank. Or he must find a way to reduce his muscles without losing power.

Joshua looked the same old Joshua , apart from one thing , even more panic. Good jab , decent right hand grab and hold. Ruiz did him good and proper and if he stays out of the way until December then maybe Fury and Wilder won't be around .Joshua has been guided through the least obstacles in the heavyweight division by Barry Hearn not Eddie and kept out of harms way with the exception of Ruiz 1 , which Andy took on two weeks notice and still annihilated him. Everyone seems to go crazy about Usyk but Usyk has only ever looked good at the weight beating Joshua , so lets see how Usyk really pans out against a Wilder ,Fury or a Joyce or one of the up and comers like Anderson. Usyk was another slip up by the Hearns as they signed him to be a name from cruiser weight thinking they could build a guy that would come up with a name but not be quite big enough to bother Joshua as the betting at the time suggested. Wilder and Joyce, should he win as expected will be sniffing around for a opponent and both have pleaded with Match room and Joshua for that fight but again for no clear reason yet given (or if ever ) they have took Joshua out of harms way again . Match room will instead continue to bring the sport of boxing down with a proposed fight with Benn and some has been in another country due to the fact that their investment was found with banned drugs in his system not once BUT twice months apart , crazy that the sport of boxing has so many loop holes for people to destroy it just through their own obvious greed and dishonour.
