That December fight better be against someone good. Not the likes of Dillian Shyte.

“I would like to see [Joshua] have a little rest then get straight back to Texas with Derrick and try and have an end of summer fight and then try and fight in December. It would be great for his career,” Hearn told Boxing Social.
Now it appears Joshua will not fight for another eight months.
Why?
Because it is going to take that long for AJ to wear every pair of 'silk pajamas' that his girl friend Barbe Dow picked out for him.
Any ole excuse will do while he builds up for his big 'cash-out fight'.
That's the way its done around camps sponsored by and large, PBC and Mayweather Promotions for sure, i.e. Spence and the Charlo boys.Last edited by Brian T; 04-09-2023, 06:02 PM.Comment

If you look back at the heavyweights of the 90's, particularly Holyfield and Lewis it is shocking how often and how many times they were in competitive matchups. As society has gotten soft so has it's fighters.Comment

Not sure why he cannot fight end of summer and in December. Can take another warm up and then maybe get Fury in December in SA. If he just goes to a December fight I will guarantee it will be Whyte or possibly Chisora.Comment

AJ doesn't look like he has that killer instinct no more and wary about being caught. We wanted to see a KO and he didn't get it. That doesn't change the fact that Franklin was a load of sh** and won 3 rounds at best so yes that is what you would call a dominant win for AJ a wide points wins and never in trouble.Comment

'And apparently Joshua himself is not exactly happy with the decision.'
TOTAL BS. Anthony, this is your future, your career, your life. Not anyone else's. This seems like an almost bizarrely ****** move, but if it is yours own it! If it isn't yours, change it. Don't give up autonomy over your future to a muppet like Eddie Hearn. Come on AJ, you could & should be better than that.Comment

Joshua needs to explain such a decision.
I was not aware of Joshua's injury, and even if he was injured 'Does it warrant such a long lay off?'.
If the plan is to just train and jump straight back into a mega fight 'Then I would understand this move'.
All of the real work gets done in the gym, another fight vs a Franklin level fighter is not really going to prepare Joshua for the Top fighters in the division.
I am sure Joshua's team will explain this move in the coming days or weeks etc.
