Just watching the replay. If Fundora would have just gone down with that first hook, I think he might well have recovered and still won the fight.

but...that didn't happen. Cong**** to Mendoza!

Same here. Nice kid, but his freakish size made fights strange. And he seemed to be getting a tad arrogant. His dad saying of Mendoza, "he thinks he is doing something but he isn't" about one minute before Fundora got crushed is pretty ironic.

I have watched Fundora a few times and was always waiting for someone to catch him and test his chin. His fights have action but they mostly feel like watching a little kid fighting a bully who just happens to be a foot taller. Mendoza made my night.

Very similar exchange as Williams / Martinez. Caught mid throw.

And NSB said this guy would have beaten Errol Spence.

Salas is a heck of a trainer. A couple of rounds before, he told Mendoza that exchanges were good because there he will have the chance to touch him, but he needed to move to the side and not stay in the middle. Did you know that Mendozas parents were from the same Salas neighborhood.

I think it was a matter of time before someone took advantage of this and a reason why he's so eager to mix it up on the inside.
Is he not allowed to wear contacts or what? Lol

I think wearing contacts is inviting the worse case scenario. Say you're in the 6th round and all the sudden a punch knocks your contacts out; what do you do? You can't see your opponent anymore, you can can't call a break to find your lost contact, all you can really do is **** on the inside. Lasik is weird and sometimes not an option; I asked to get lasik once and my eye doctor told me it really wasn't an option because a lens in my bad eye was too thin for lasik.
