You’re suffering from some horrible sickness. Brain eating amoeba perhaps. Quarantine.

Benavidez's balance and IQ are nowhere near Golovkin's.

Fighters that process quicker in there give canelo trouble Floyd and Dmitry were two fighters that process very quickly. For me personally David doesn't fit this category and will be playing second fiddle to canelos counter punching and getting off speed when in the pocket.

A jab that causes canelo to reset constantly is also needed to beat the current day singular power punch throwing version. Benavidez doesn't have the jab required for this either.

Sure he might give canelo trouble in spots but that doesn't mean he can win and win convincingly.

He's accurate but against who? The quality of opposition is lacking to test this accuracy against.

They never even approached the sanctioning body about it - the WBC never made a decison because it was never asked. Their rules however allow them pretty much full discretion when it comes to setting the split and there's no reason to think they wouldn't have been amenable to one more favourble to Canelo if they'd been asked.

It's been a few years but best I recall this was only an argument offered by various online fans and perhaps one or two pundits, but never one advanced by Canelo or his team. The actual reason they offered was that 'they didn't want to be forced into unnatural deadlines' or some such shtick if I recall it right.

You missed the original point at the start. I'm talking about if I was just some contender, which poison would I rather die by. That's the point I was making.

Skill for skill Alvarez is definitely a higher level fighter than Benavidez.

But even still Benavidez has attributes that can negate that difference in skill level.

Aggression, solid power, the ability to put punches continuously together without resetting himself 'And a Good Work rate'.

size , speed , power, gas tank. thats lots of attributes to over come for a fighter who is not an amazing boxer. Fools acting like Canelo is sugar ray Leonard or something.
