The Canelo catchweight was a travesty.
Canelo was 153 when fought Trout 5 months before and weighed in as low as 151 against Matthew Hatton 24 months before. Travesty lol..
Fighting Amir Khan at 155, now that's a travesty.
Loma refusing to go down to 126 to fight Rigo a guy naturally 3 weight classes smaller, now that's a travesty.

Sounds like we should have guys fight opponents who are the same exact weight, height, arm length, so there’s less excuses.

You're right in a sense. But physically Loma was/is the bigger man, I remember a commentator even mentioning it.

Canelo was 153-1/2, Trout was 153-1/4. Day of the fight weight check had Canelo weighing 172. Day of the fight weight check, before the Mayweather fight had him at 165. Mayweather ‘s people understood very well Canelo’s difficulties even making 154.

The day Rigo fought Loma, Rigo was 128 and Loma 137 pounds, without taking into account the 7 years of difference in age. Despite of all of that Loma was honored as a "God". Now they know what will be the result and are coming with excuses in advance...

By age 30 Floyd already moved up multiple weight classes and maxed out at 154 when he fought Oscar for that strap. Loma has not even had 20 pro fights and people are calling him old because they fear he might lose to someone whom they hate.

Lets get real, after fighting all the average fighters up and around one's weight class, a fighter will have no choice but to fight the good ones. Lomachenko is not old in that sense, but is now facing boxers with better balance, IQ, Jab, and bigger punches whom he can't take for granted. I always felt he would struggle with a fighter who has a good Jab and Teo proved that. All that lateral movement can be undone with someone with an good educated Jab.

He is still the same Loma, but is facing a different caliber of fighters. He is not going to steamroll these guys, though might still be competitive and eked out a win. Loma is on the receiving end and begging for a title shot so he has no choice but to fight the good fighters now.
