Thing is, AJ lacks that killer instinct others have.
Other guys were trying to KO their bum.
AJ appeared to be weary of getting caught with a jab.
I hear what you're saying but in the end is there any difference in trying to KO your opponent and winning by UD and not trying to KO your opponent and winning by UD?
The result is the same. Nobody cares what you "tried" to do. Boxers are always saying "Oh, I was going for the KO" but if they don't get the KO, the criticism from fans is generally the same.

Maybe you have a short memory or just watch KO compilation videos on youtube all day but Mike was a shadow of his former self in his last years in the ring. He was blitzed by less capable boxers than Franklin.
      Somebody doesn’t understand sarcasm…

The laughing face was the clue, I’ll try and make it even more obvious for you next time.

Image, marketability, progression/regression of career trajectory.....After a guy reaches a certain level, simply winning is not enough.
Fans can tell when a fighter is weary when he shouldn't be.

Boxing is a ''sport'' like no other.
Almost completely ego driven and gives that egotistical bastard a chance to show just how superior he is mano y mano
No teammates to back him up.

A boxer can actually try to KO an opponent but the opponent refused to stop running and hugging.
        Fans will recognize this easily.

Perhaps my greatest accomplishment is developing enough maturity that I don’t run around in internet forums defending men from other men and insulting people in the process for merely expressing their opinion.

Here’s something to try to wrap your mind around: absolute vs relative judgments. Absolutely-speaking, Joshua is extraordinarily accomplished. Relatively-speaking, when compared to many other heavyweights, he’s not. As soon as he fought someone great, he lost. Handily. Twice.

It's ok going 12 rounds, but this version of Joshua is very Hesitate. Big Strong Fighters like him should be utilising these strengths, like he was doing until his one off KO.

I am wondering whether people have now stepped back during this aftermath 'And objectively analysed Joshua's performances'.

Franklin while pretty much training part time, pushed Dillian Whyte in a competitive fight.

Franklin vs Joshua was no longer a part time dedicated boxer 'And was able to train full-time'

Franklin was 22 pounds lighter for the Joshua fight in comparison to his fight against Whyte.

Anthony Joshua beat Franklin and won 95% percent of the rounds 'Joshua pretty much won all the rounds, accept maybe 1'.

Joshua was never in any major threat to losing the fight. His pace was managed well, and he did show for the first time ever 'The ability to tie up and wrestle on the inside, which is a vital skill for any Heavyweight'.

Franklin on current form we all ready know, is in and around the level of Dillian Whyte 'Franklin on current form right now, most likely beats Chisora'.

So on review Joshua has just fairly easily beaten a fighter, at the same level of above Fury's last two opponents.

Note: The reaction to Joshua's performance has been dramatic, he is clearly still a major player at heavyweight. On current form he most likely beats 90-95% of the other top Heavyweights.

Yes his performance vs Franklin was not as brutal as people were anticipating 'Even myself, I was expecting a stoppage inside 7-8 rounds'.

But that is because Joshua is held to a high standard, Joshua throughout his entire career 'Has been held to a higher standard than Tyson Fury'.

If you check Fury's career, he has had multiple worst performances against lower level fighters 'Fury has been busted up, and ****** about throughout his entire career'.

Right now between Fury, Wilder, Usyk, Joshua, Joyce. The game is about staying prepared, and refinement. And the way I see it? Joshua is still there, Joshua is still a threat 'And he can still refine his game'.

Non of these fighters are miles better than each other 'There is not that gap, or void now to the ranked number 1 Heavyweight on Merritt Tyson Fury'.

The fights and performances of these fighters displays this. There are many Heavyweights who would beat Whyte and Chisora more impressively than Fury.

I just think now after the immediate aftermath has dissipated, the honest boxing fans will now realized 'That Joshua's performance was solid enough, a satisfactory standard performance'.

AJ is underrated boxer. He has a potential to outbox everyone not named Fury and Usyk.

But, his boxing skills would be his end against Wilder and Joyce. He boxes Shyte's ears off in December without too much issue.
