Can't recall any other specific moments of this guy right now, but anytime I hear his name, it's always marred with some type of controversy like Laurence Cole is over here. Dudes just can't ref nor judge a fight without some nonsense involved.

It’s same incompetent officials again and again too. John-Lewis, O’Connor, Foster etc. Robert Smith and his band of merry men have destroyed the credibility of refereeing and judging in this country. It’s sadly become one of the worst places to box as an away fighter in regards to getting a decision and/or fair shake from the referee.

But I’m sure your aware that these refs are getting handed envelopes , most of the time , that’s why they keep at it

It’s more like bribery, the promoter pays for their hotel, travel and other expenses. It creates a natural bias, especially when it’s the same judges continually working for the same promoters getting all these perks week in week out.
