Carl can sometimes come across as a bit of a tool but I think he is **** on the money here. It is a long time since AJ beat an ageing Vladimir. Sadly, he's never quite lived up to that promise & he won't do now.

He could have gone all ape sh#t on Franklin but it couldve backfired.
Franklin has no power. He was picked so AJ COULD blast him out.

A lot of people are missing this point. This was supposed to be an Eric Molina, Gary Cornish, Kevin Johnson etc type opponent.

Franklin couldn’t even stop Pavel Sour who got blasted out early by Hughie Fury and Nathan Gorman. That’s the type of level we’re talking here.

It’s painful to see a fighter who has lost his confidence.

At the risk of sounding ridiculous in the future, I'm saying it again right now: Joshua will not be the same anymore, from now on it's downhill. And if someone puts him in the ring with Wilder, that's out and out murder.
People have all been played by narratives 'Joshua is afraid he is this, he is that'.

Joshua fought Usyk twice back to back 'When is Fury fighting Uysk?'.

What I saw last night was a calm performance from Joshua 'And I liked the holding and wrestling on the inside'.

Joshua has never really had this aspect to his game. I have highlighted this in the past, and pointed out 'That Joshua seemingly has no idea how to tie up a fighter and wrestle on the inside'.

Tyson Fury has had many more underwhelming fights against lower level fighters. Fights were Fury is actually trying and putting serious effort in 'But he is still being battered'.

Fury was busted up real good and battered by Otto Wallin 'Wallin is not a higher level fighter than Franklin, they are pretty much on a similar level'.

What was Fury's excuse vs a miles out of condition semi-retired Chisora? Why didn't Fury fight Chisora head on, in their last fight? Chisora would of went the full 12 rounds if the referee did not step in 'I think Fury's hardcore fans need to be concerned about that'.

And even if that was a under-par performance from Joshua last night 'Putting the performance into perspective, Joshua is still beating a solid heavyweight in Franklin pretty easily'. Joshua was never in threat of losing the fight, and I don't think he got out of second gear.

Franklin was 17 pounds lighter to when he fought Whyte, his overall game would of increased by levels 'Franklin has proven now beyond doubt that he is a solid fighter'.

I just think this reaction is dramatic, and there is agenda behind it all.

For me I rate the performance as satisfactory 'That is Joshua's first win in 2 years, that has to mean something and have positives effects on his own momentum'.

AJ looked lost in the first half of the fight although he did look better once Franklin got tired. The new trainer didn’t make much difference as AJ has lost so much confidence. He looks lost many times and seems to have fear in taking risks given his prior losses. His problem is all in his head.

When you look like Mr. America and you get knocked out by the Pillsbury Dough Boy, that can FK with your psyche big time.

You're very often comparing AJ to Fury throughout your posts about Joshua. I'm not a Fury fan, for the record, and regard him as grossly overrated.

I took note of your accurate-as-ever analysis, containing many valid points. I stand with my beliefs regarding AJ. We'll see what the future brings for him and, at this point, I'm very curious to watch his future performances. I'm wishing him all the best, sincerely, but the fact that, in the last two fights, AJ had a nervous outburst at the end should suggest something about his mental state.
