I dont like this old thing, some guys fight very well mid 30's and beyond & some older guys pick and choose their opponents very carefully so its hard to really know whats going on and if they are actually declining

The only reason why some people hate Haney is because he is trying to steal all the oxygen from the face of the earth.

I think Devin Haney needs Kenny Bayless in this fight.

You could tell this thread is already assuming Haney wins the fight with 110% certainty as if he's fighting Gamboa or Jojo Diaz, and is already talking about people making excuses when he wins. He's completely disregarding a Haney loss.

They have removed Lomachenko from the P4P lists purely to discredit Haney should he win.

Then the media, fans are salivating over Tank vs Garcia - Two serial duckers who have simply ran out of undefeated C level opponents and faded, little B level guys to fight so are now forced to either fight each other or get schooled and shown up for what they truly are vs Haney. Once again, the path of least resistance. Not to say its not a good fight but that is the real situation here. People are tired of seeing Tank vs these unknown, undefeated novices and if they ain't they damn well should be.

Kambosos is better than anything either of them have on their record as-is Loma even if he is old and that will remain regardless who wins until the loser bounces back and actually beats someone with a pulse.

They call themselves boxing fans but they don't support pure boxers who are credits to the sports, they just downplay them and give all the props to limited punchers who make careers out of fighting fringe guys and wonder why the sports dead.

Lomachenko hasn't even stepped in the ring yet and they are already downplaying him as much as possible in an attempt to discredit Haney.

They did this bs with Rigondeaux also and sat him on the shelf. Justified everyone ducking him and would overly praise the likes of Frampton, LSC, Quigg

Ortiz still presents the things that cause Loma trouble.
It’s a biological fact. Loma is very small at 135 and at 35 years old closing that gap has become a lot more difficult.

The Loma who fought Linares, Pedraza etc beats Ortiz easily.

It’s still a good win but it’s certainly not some elite win that makes Haney a bonafide P4P superstars like he’s laughably trying to suggest.

I like Jamel, good dude but Ortiz beating him on the way out didn’t mean that much.

Loma was and still is on p4p lists and at no point did he fight a young athletic fighter as big as Ortiz is aside from the time he lost to Teofimo Lopez.

Campbell, Linares, Pedraza are all the same size as Ortiz in terms of dimensions. They’re all far more accomplished too. Ortiz is a fringe contender.

Loma shouldn’t be anywhere near P4P lists in 2023.
