Plant clinched enough to be disqualified by any other judge. He wasn't even warned once by Kenny Bayless. But as soon as Benavidez wanted to work on the inside, Bayless would be right there with arms outstretched ready to separate them, and he would push Benavidez way back, so he'd have to start all over again. He gave Plant every opportunity to survive, until Plant.was too tired and hurt to effectively clinch, and then David could start working with his free hand on the inside. Even then, he had to work fast, because he could see that Bayless was working against him as much as possible, and looking for any chance to help Plant out. Bayless also called time out to have the ref look at Plant for a forehead cut that wasn't going affecting his vision. I believe this was to give Plant a breather and more time to clear his head. If Benavidez was able to work on the inside, Plant would have been outta there in 5 or 6 rounds

Your dislike for Canelo...man is off the charts. Unlike you, I believe Canelo will take that fight, but it will likely won't happen till next year. I expect him to do the Ryder fight and Bivol this year and take a good fight after Bivol and then into Benavidez for Cinco DeMayo. We all know styles make fight and Benavidez is a tough task for anybody but he cannot walk Canelo down recklessly as he did Plant and am pretty sure he won't else he gets KO'ed himself 'cos Plant was able to land some good shots, he just didn't have the pop. Canelo on the other hand can hit and can also take a punch too. Hell of a fight when it happens, I 'll imagine Benavidez is even much better a year from now.

Curious reasoning. You believe that Canelo is ducking Benavidez by challenging a MUCH better fighter, a fighter who already beat him soundly, at a higher weight? Your mind is mushy.

Tough division to be in as a boxer. Super middleweights are a weight where real power starts to show. Benavidez has great power and can throw combos. He also cuts the ring down nicely. I think Plant needs to develop more head movement and more efficient moving dynamics. He tends to cover up and get stationary when cornered.

Plants good enough to win another title if matched correctly. I doubt he will ever be a lineal champ but a belt holder definitely. There's been far lesser champs at 168 in the past.

              F*** Plant!
I loved how he was showboating in the earlier rounds and Benavidez made him pay for it.

I would hope this 2nd ass beating would humble him but I seriously doubt it.
He will be back to s*it talking in his next fight, talking about it's his "destiny to be champ" again and telling everyone his sob story.

I'm sure if Plant would of beat Benavidez, he would not have shown the same respect that Benavidez showed him.
He was completely classless against Dirrell!

Just because he KO's Dirrell he was talking about this "newfound" power and how David was next.
I didn't see a single punch affect Benavidez. Not the same thing when you are fighting washed up boxers.
