    You reckon?

I think he starts favourite but tough fight for him IMO.

      I don’t think so.

I don’t really rate Benavidez. Very basic fighter I don’t see him posing any issues for Canelo at all.

He reminds me a bit of a more athletic Margarito. Definitely has flaws.

I’m just not sure Canelo has a style to make it an easy fight. Bivol for example would box circles around Benavidez for 12 rounds, Canelo however, will have to stand toe to toe with him at some point.

Last night I was impressed by Benavidez's engine and willpower. Although he didn't stop Plant, and was outboxed rather evidently in the first half, I feel that this fight will do him a lot of good on the long term. If they meet, and Canelo's version is the one we saw vs Bivol and Golovkin III, I'd favor Benavidez notwithstanding his technical deficiencies.

            A very competitive fight.

That could be dangerous for Canelo, if he gasses out like in his last two fights.

And Canelo is not some monster either. An ancient GGG took everything Canelo had. Benavidez is naturally much bigger than GGG and he is in his prime.

As I posted in the other thread, I was actually surprised Plant threw more punches than Benavidez. I realize Caleb made it a bit difficult for David to get his work off initially but still wasn't expecting him to throw more. I also brought up how Plant threw 624 punches compared to Canelo throwing 623 in the Golovkin rematch, which is his highest output since Mosley in 2012. It took Caleb throwing his highest amount (I think?) to have the performance he did. Canelo hasn't thrown anywhere near that number since the second Golovkin fight. Although he does hit harder and is more accurate than Plant, Canelo still needs to throw. Don't think he can throw off a couple punch combinations all night and hope he catches Benavidez with something big. For all his flaws, I don't think David will lay down like Callum did. He'll make it difficult for Canelo. Saul's stamina is not going to get better, if anything it'll get worse, which will help Benavidez.

I feel the same about Margarito too.

Defintely, Canelo will have to stand with him and I dint see him having any issues. Benivdez has an engine and chin but he’s not a power punch, he’s not really an inside fighter and his defence is poor. I think Canelo beats him anyway. From distance it’s a mismatch and in the pocket he’ll get the better of him too.

I’d like to see it next. It makes sense. Benavidez is #1.

I see a 9-3 esque fight for Canelo.

Canelo via close debated decision is a safer bet than buying gold

I think his power is overrated. I don’t think he ever had Plant badly hurt tbh. I’d be absolutely astounded if he stopped Canelo like some are predicting. I can see his work rate giving him trouble in the second half of the fight though.

It’s the fight to make IMO. The Bivol rematch doesn’t majorly interest me tbh.
