Plant was also beating Canelo before he was stopped. Nevermind the totally corrupt cards that had Canelo ahead. Pure bribery in the open
Punches landed on Plant: Benevidez (~307), Canelo(117)

I actually find that quite surprising in that Canelo seemed to land more cleanly and frequently against Plant. He seemed more economical than Benavidez, a lot less wastefull. I bet a lot of those "punches landed" for Benavidez were partially blocked/grazing shots whereas most of Canelo's seemed like cleaner blows. This stat probably also shows that Canelo hits harder than Benavidez.
Before the Plant fight I wasn't fully sold on Benavidez and I'm still not but I'm definitely more interested in a Canelo fight now. Very interesting fight.Comment

You bet? so you will ignore the stats and just make things up? Canelo landed barely anything until he caught Plant. David factually landed far more shots and was accurate. Keep making things up though.I actually find that quite surprising in that Canelo seemed to land more cleanly and frequently against Plant. Like I said, that's how it seemed but I'll need to watch the Canelo fight again. Canelo still landed the cleaner punches and seemed the more powerful of the two unless you want to ignore the stats and make up that Benavidez hits harder when he couldn't even drop Plant with "more punches landed". Again, Canelo's punching was definitely more clean and accurate, a lot of David's shots were grazing/partially blocked blows, not much clean work. Sorry but it's not all about stats.Comment

not without weight draining them first and he couldn’t get to Bivol lol
I take it you maybe haven't seen any of Canelo's last 14 fights where literally all his opponent were taller than him and one even being 6'3... If you would have seen any of his fights, you would have witnessed that Canelo, although smaller, still manges to find a way in and makes his own openings.
benavidez is all wrong for him and canelo knows it

What so the stats "prove" that Benavidez hits harder? Quite the opposite actually. Also, Benavidez had Plant hurt from the 8th and still couldn't get him out of there whereas Canelo finished the job immediately after hurting him, you know the **** the stats can't identify. I actually watch the fights, I don't just look at the stats afterwards.Comment
