I'm waiting for someone to produce some data (OTHER THAN Instascam numbers/Twitter followers) to justify the statement that Cryan Garcia, who has NEVER held gold as a pro, is a bigger "STAR" than Terence Crawford.

Because despite Crawford's blatant duck of Errol Spence, I firmly believe he's bigger THAN CRYAN. That's all I'm saying.

I have Cryan on the same level as someone like, say, Blair Cobbs. Cobbs sells fights with his mouth. Garcia sells the parents of the teeny boppers who fawn over him.

Crawford's hardcore fans who ignore his ducking KEEP paying to see him, then those fans try to convince others to check out this "switch hitter". It's just that they see

• him getting two-pieced, wobbled and dropped (Kavaliauskas),
• him using sketchy gloves to get a KO (Avanesyan),
• his opponent has one leg (Benavidez),
• he tosses a low blow on "that guy who supposedly has a glass chin" (Khan),
• he gets outboxed for 4 rounds straight before getting what looks like a quit job stoppage (Brook),
• a ref stop a guy who's fighting back and still on his feet (Horn), or
• a guy have a tantrum in the ring (Porter)

and they don't bother watching him anymore. So Crawford can't sustain the numbers. We saw that with every fight since Khan. His numbers just go down. But even with that decline, I'm fairly certain he still pulls more money than Cryan currently does.

If Cryan beats Tank, THEN we can safely say he's above Crawford as a drawing name. That's what I'm arguing.

Garcia is definitely a bigger draw than Crawford. Crawford went free agent and no promoter wanted to touch him. Promoters know they'll lose money on that cardboard box. If Garcia leaves GBP, promoters will be lining up to sign him.
