Two things that David does that make him so hard to beat is how he can switch from leaning back against the ropes with a high guard making it very hard for him to be nailed cleanly - to then turning it up and walking down his opponent with volumes. That is damned hard to beat. An opponent has to time his volume with counters and movement to have any chance. Plant has a style like that, but maybe not THE style to make it work. Plant would have to land a huge punch; I don't see any other scenario where his style works for all 12 rounds against a machine gun onslaught.

I think people over analyze chit

Canelo was going to win one way or another because hes the better fighter. It didnt matter if Plant had "more will" or was "mentally tough" that is basically saying he would get blasted out on his shield trading in the early rounds.... that was never his fighting style. Yeah he fought to survive more than to win, because he is a boxer and he was getting outboxed and outlanded so that is what happens...

Plant was never that good to begin with, its not that hard to get a belt when there are 4 of them and 168 is a weak and less glamorous division.

Benevidez isnt anything special either, he is just younger and stronger and cuts a ton of weight so he will win the fight but so far his big claim to fame has been stopping a 10 year past his prime dirrell.

david is a lame ass who makes massive cuts to stay at 168 to avoid 175 where he should be. go up to 175 and try to walk down beterbiev, he WILL time david and send him into another dimension.

I would like to see Plant land a counter hook to drop Benavidez. It can happen. But does he have the firepower to finish him? It remains to be seen.

Not true Tim!!! He asked Canelo “im pretty good for 19-0”, Canelo replied “yes”. He won’t quit he’s good, Tim should know better

i said this years ago and got dismissed.... he looked beat before he even got in the ring against canelo and had already lost the fight in his own head. we dont know how good benavidez is yet but i can promise that if he starts off strong plant will just give up and try and go a few rounds

50/50 for my final prediction. It can go either way. I do wonder if Bread has helped improve Caleb's stamina and conditioning.

Plant thinks he’s much slicker than he actually is. He kept skipping/ducking to the same side all night vs Canelo. That’s a hard tick to break. If its the same vs David then I hope David looks to get him to duck into an uppercut. Canelo got Billy to duck into his uppercut compounding the force. I think Plant will come in mentally strong and put up a good fight. David can get hit. Takes it well so far though.
Id like to see David show more than just coming forward with volume, course that is fun to watch. If he can ad one wrinkle to his style it could go a long way.

Good fight. Benavidez put it on him but he didn't quit.
