    You're always going to have people calling for the other fighter, but it doesn't mean they're not the favourite or anything.

    Kovalev was shot and drained. Yet, Canelo was clearly losing until the KO. Putting Kovalev under those conditions is definitely not overcoming anything though. Canelo sabotaged Kovalev to the point he couldn't win. He started well but didn't have the energy needed at the end.

    Canelo never overcame Golovkin. Golovkin won both fight one and two. The Golovkin of the third fight was shot and 40 years old. Plus, Canelo was a big favourite in that one.

    Got a gift against Lara too.

    Angulo was shot and coming off a bad stoppage loss. I don't remember anyone picking him to beat Canelo.

    Trout had some support, but again, Canelo was a handy favourite.

    I do not see any of these as overcoming the odds. Had he beat Golovkin and not got robberies, you could say that opponent. But he didn't win. He needed his judges to protect him.
