JoJo Diaz vs Mercito Gesta is THE fight this weekend!

Yeah, I like this fight.
Gesta - I watched his last fight had to do a double take. He was on his toes with a bounce, in and out, taking angles, it looked different for him, improved...doing a lot of stuff people wanted to see him develop earlier in his career.
I'm a fan of JoJo too so I'd like to see him get back in the W column - but seems like these two are coming from different places - with Gesta looking fresher. I'd like to trust the new look but so many times he's fallen into the same pattern in fights. Tough one. Going with my gut, Gesta could go on a little run starting this fight.Comment

Gesta looked sharp against Joel Diaz, couldn't tell if he looked like he had more pop or if Diaz was that chinny and shopworn (probably the latter). Most other times I've seen Gesta, he's been a bit of a plodder without the power to change the complexion of a fight.
Jojo has some mileage with the weight fluctuations and the wars. Not sure how disciplined he is outside the ring. I lean towards Diaz, I feel like he's been the more dynamic fighter ove the course of their careers.
Should be a good scrap and I'd be surprised if there's a stoppage.Comment

Glad that parody fight of Ramirez-Rosado got cancelled! Now we get the real fight as the headline!
Next time stop shoving tostadas down your mouth Zurdo....or shall I saw GORDO!Comment

Would have been an even better card if Floyd Schofield as the co-main event against Jayson Velez or Rene Alvarado. I honestly think that Joseph Diaz Jr is just fighting at 140 just for this fight and will eventually move back down to lightweight.
Albeit this looks it be quite competitive, this is a good comeback fight for him considering he faced Haney and Zepeda in a row.
A much better fight compared to Zurdo giving Rosado Alzheimer's.Comment
