You can't blame tank for asking Garcia to give up every advantage. tank's career is over if he loses to Garcia so he better handicap Ryan as best he can. If anyone is at fault for these requests it's Garcia for accepting the fight under these ****** requirements

Don't blame him any more for this than I blame him for selecting opponents that do not risk him losing his undefeated record. About the same actually.

        CatchWeight Davis
Can't be any more simple than that. Davis is the A-side in this equation. If they wanna fight him, they gotta agree to his terms. When you got leverage, you use it. If Garcia wasn't confident in winning with the terms he was presented, he shouldn't of signed. If it's considered a chump move, then the guy that signed got chumped. Just the nature of the business.

Garcia doesn't want himself at his best...which is why he elected not to fight better fighters when given the chance (Haney, Jojo).

Its why he elected to accept such terms.

Ryan Garcia is a trick, plain and simple.

That’s pretty funny when you consider you’re a Tank Davis fan.

              Hey Tank!

Because you mention chumps and confidence...

Who came in with conditions e.g. catch weight and rehydration clause? Shooky Davis...

Who signed the contract EVEN WITH the chump conditions? Ryan "Aight shooky" Garcia

                Only if you are simple....

The reality is that Tank exposed his doubt with his little list of "don't feed that left hook" clauses... catch weights and penalties for coming into the ring less-than optimal.

FEAR. Now you can sell it as "trick" all you want but it's clear and if anything will diminish a Tank win given the handicap clauses executed by Thug-life My little Pony Purple Rain Davis

You mentioned it being a chump move. He got chumped then by signing it. Garcia shoulda spent his time building his profile and make himself a bigger attraction instead of pulling out fights and being inactive. Maybe he woulda been a bigger attraction than Davis and the shoe woulda been on the other foot. Has nobody to blame but himself for having to concede to to the terms he was given. Ain't no room for your feelings in the business

You are trying too hard to spin the obvious: Tank's LACK of confidence. It's clear that he does not want Garcia at his best. You can pretend it's cool and A-side boss sh it all you want but the fact remains Tank "feels" Garcia needs to be handicapped for the bout.

But yea man... spin away about how bad ass it is to handicap your opponent.

This cant be avoided when two guys are quite a way apart in natural size, if Ryan has a CW to lower his weight it's a probable handicap though it may not be, we won't know until we see the fight, on the flip side if Ryan was allowed his full size then Davis is handicapped, these things happen all the time in boxing when you have different size guys that the public want to see fight, its unavoidable and nothing can be done so that its fair for both, a CW is the answer boxing has come up with but it's fraught with danger, it's not categorically a draining/weakening although it may very well turn out to be that, the truth is we don't know the effect until fight time and it's not based on purely the result of winning or losing its shows through how the guy lost, weight issues is easy to see during a fight, its impossible to assume accurately before a fight.
