The answer is Holmes surviving that right hand from Shavers. How he got up from that shot I’ll never know.

Canelo wank thread.....bro couldn't hold himself back.

I could literally list 10 that Trump this but I'll leave 2.

      Leotis Martins KO of Liston
      Julian Jackson's KO of Norris

Both KOs had each guy literally leaving consciousness while standing.

        - Wilder right hand a.k.a hardest punch ever.
        - Tsunami on Fury's body.
        - From bulky Wilder at his career highest weight.

I ask myself the same when I watch Holmes getting lifted from the floor by Tyson's right hand, first knockdown. The explosive sound of that punch still lingers on in my ears after 35 years.

This was my first thought but was also the first reply. Quick to the draw.

Yeah that was another one. Holmes ability to recover was otherworldly.

I actually got to speak to Shavers quite a bit as he settled in Liverpool and used to work the doors on the several bars in the city. I’ve actually spoke to him about that shot and he said he caught him perfectly, he thought Larry was out.

I think Holmes has said hitting his head on the canvas was what woke him back up as well or something crazy like that.

Every time I watch it, there’s a part of me that doesn’t expect Holmes to get up. One of those almost unexplainable moments you get in boxing.

As I mentioned in the post above, I got to speak to Earnie about that shot and even he was amazed Holmes got back up.
