Good god man, its frightening that you don't know this stuff. Thankfully times have moved on but seeing as you just don't know and are not taking the piss. The republic of Ireland is a free state and the north of Ireland belongs to the UK for better or worse. Bernard Dunne is from Dublin which is the capital of the republic of Ireland therefore he is Irish. To assume he is British is offensive to be honest. By the way only an idiot would associate punch resistance with nationality. It involves diet, body mass, bone structure, genetics, living habits etc etc..
