Same here brother! I don't know if Matias will turn out the next Puerto Rican superstar, but his next couple of fight's are going to be something to watch.

I think his next opponent will be Shohjahon Ergashev. IBF wants Ergashev to fight in an eliminator, but I don't know if they'll find an opponent to fight Ergashev! Ergashev is good! If you haven't seen him yet, go to YouTube!

I've heard two name's tossed around for his fight as follows: 1. Alberto Puello WBA Champ in a unification bout, 2. Shohjahon Ergashev.
I'd personally would like to see him fight Prograis, Puello, Taylor, who I think will defeat Lopez, and then Ergashev.
If he can get by those "Four Horsemen of the apocalypse", than he'll have made his indelible mark on the 140 pounds, and it's on to the 147 weight class.

The trainer knows his fighter better. But he was talking how he beat some Brit and why can't he do the same to Matias. They soon learned they are levels to this game. I don't know why would they fight Matias fight and go into the meat grinder but they did.

I for one thought that he could continue because Ponce can box a bit from the outside. At the same time when it got stopped Ponce did not complain. Epic fights are made with drama in the ring and this fight had a lot of it already but got cut short.

Like I said the trainer stopped it and then Ponce made a statement that he was okay with it. Ponce looked really good in the first 4 rounds of that fight.
