Hurd did the best he could for where he was physically and skill wise. The problem was, he wasn't ready for Resendiz and had no idea this young kid was that mentally tough and figured he would get tired and lay down eventually. When someone doesn't have much amateur experience and not that many pro fights, you would never think they're gonna be that gritty and seasoned. So he was definitely underestimated

Maybe, but just keep that right hand up. Ate a lot of straight lefts.

Neither one are defensive wizards, that's for sure! Resendiz has a great chin, great stamina, and decent skills! I just think he's a little small for 160! If he can keep that power and stamina, and drop 6lbs. lower, I think he becomes a real problem!

Too long layoff and Hurd is not really dangerous at 160. He can punch, but he also blocks punches with his face.

I don't like his shoulder roll stance, especially when he gets in close. I always figured the shoulder roll is best used by guys with sharp reflexes, counter punching, and defense minded styles and none of those are really Jarret Hurd's wheelhouse. Hurd does have a decent jab off that shoulder roll style but its not consistent enough to rely on. When he's bumping against his opponent in close quarters he basically traps his left arm against his opponent's body and can't use it. Am I crazy or did anyone else see this?

Yeah, he's done at world level.

He looked like George Foreman in comparison to the other LMWs. Now, he just looks average.

I hope he's saved his loot or is investing well.

I dont understand why he took so much time off. You cant do that as a PROFESSIONAL fighter.
