I wouldn’t count out Thurman either, he beat better versions of Danny and Porter. Spence would rather fight hyped up no-hopers going forward than to accept the humility of losing his 0 in the loss column.

Hurd started looking bad before he made the jump to 160. He didn't look good in his stoppage win against Wellborn then he lost to J-Rock in his next fight and failed to impress against a journeyman after that.

From what I understand, Hurd had some things going on in his personal life with his girlfriend and then the loss of his father. While he's looked bad since he moved up, the decline started well before that.
