I see Benavidez starting fast and hard, Plant absorbing his heaviest stuff, taming him little by little to bring him into deep waters, perhaps stopping him late.

Not sure that it will happen, but since the fight was announced I envisioned this outcome. I just see Plant as the more intelligent fighter between the two.

That “seek and destroy” style of fighting isn't very complicated to figure out.
Thinking your so much better than every boxer around you is a sure way to be surprised one day.
Benavidas is working the size and power angle and thats great and has DEFINITELY worked for him. Its just that he better improve his skills cause he will move up in weight and NOT be the strongest or biggest guy in the ring. Ask Canelo.

Yeah ok lol. I guess Ryder and Plant are both supermen now.

            A few points:
            1) fights are not won or lost based on who has the most polite manners or the best grammar
            2) Plant's behavior after the Dirrell KO was more low class than anything Benavidez Sr or Jr has ever said or done
            3) David already had some of the best condition in boxing, and now he's doing this camp with Memo, so try to imagine for a minute what that's gonna look like in the ring...
            4) Plant is slick, but he's not Pernell Whitaker/James Toney slick. He gets hit hard and clean. We've seen him cut, busted up, hurt, dropped and stopped b4

This is exactly my prediction but w/out stoppage, Plant could take advantage of benavidez openings with accuracy and speed to draw him to deep frustration waters, as long as he keep cold head and composed with all non stop pressure he'll be getting as of round 1 from DB. Real 50-50 fight.

Nah, Holyfield was past prime but still dangerous, while Tyson was a shell of his former self. Both Benavidez and Plant are young and in their prime. David is more of a boxer-puncher, who wears his opponents down with hard combo punches. Plant will try to move around and outbox Benavidez, but he won't be able to hurt him enough to keep him off and he won't be able to escape. Benavidez, KO, round 8 or 9. He's going to try to make it a point to KO Caleb earlier than Canelo did.

That was atrocious. His trainer wincing in the background....

No, they aren't. But neither is Benavidez. Then again, I wrote that I'm not sure about my vision. It could very well be that Benavidez knocks Plant out within six. It will be very interesting to see how the fight develops.

In terms of mental strength, I'm considering Plant superior to Benavidez as well. Managing the loss of a daughter vs getting high on ******* are two equally revelatory traits of the respective attitudes.

Holyfield had looked like a corpse in his previous fight vs Bobby Czyz, whereas Tyson was still knocking opponents out (OK, Seldon threw the fight, but still...). Many people were fearing for Holyfield's health at that time.

However, I was not comparing them literally, just how I see the fight unfolding. The feared puncher starting as advertised, then gradually losing steam and getting demoralized. You know what I mean.

Still, the outcome you predict is equally plausible. That's why the fight is so intriguing.
