I don't care who it is, it's very hard to get 19 KOs, and the IBF belt, in 20 fights! Jukembayev and Ponce were undefeated fighters, both highly ranked by the IBF! Matias stopped both of them! Bro Prograis was going hard on some of the guys at 140lb including Matias just a few months ago. Talking about how he likes to hurt guys etc. So when Matias was asked about that he responded I think appropriately. Matias has been asked about other guys at 140 and he was cool no issues.

I've noticed when certain guys talk trash its all good with everyone media included they say "aw just a little gamesmanship" but when it's other guys doing it back they get called out for it left and right.

Matias imo responded right and thing is Matias doesn't play when he's pissee he'll show you.

No I do remember when Prograis was talking ****, that was during the post fight interview after he defeated Zepeda.
I don't think that it's acceptable, or show's good moral character when anyone is bragging about hurting, and sending someone else to the hospital.
As a matter of fact I mentioned it on another post, if there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that what you wish on other's can become self fulfilling on themselves.
I remember when Trinidad senior was so hyped up before his son's fight against De La Hoya, that he stated Felix was going to kill him.
Felix Trinidad Jr. stopped him right then, and there (in other words we aren't going there dad), that's what good moral judgement, and what champion's are made of.
Like I said we're all human, and can get caught up in the moment, but Matias already had a n opponent perish at his hands, he doesn't need to be threatening anyone.

I'm not so sure about that. I'm married to a Boriqua, and none of her family members know Matias, but they know Zayas and Berlanga! Arum has Xayas on fire, and Berlanga got the push from Fat Joe! Matias is still only for the hardcore boxing fans! He's not really at Verdejo level yet, which is a shame! Now that Matias is a Champion, PBC should only have him fighting in NYC or FL!!!
